Only three races remain in the 2006 season, and with the conclusion
at Homestead, NASCAR’s champion will be crowned. The anticipation is in
the air, and all of us at Motorsports Authentics are dedicated to working
on the 2006 Championship line, which will appear in upcoming issues.
Also on the horizon is the 2006 holiday season, and we have the
perfect gifts for race fans. Sam Bass, the first artist officially licensed
by NASCAR, has designed eight fantasy holiday cars for fans to enjoy.
These cars include a cast of holiday characters and are unique for each
driver represented.
Also available is The Jeff Gordon Foundation Holiday Car. This is the
third year the Foundation has created a seasonal fantasy die-cast, and
this year jolly Santa is the star. With this effort, Jeff continues his focus
on worthy causes, with all proceeds from the die-cast benefiting the
charities supported by his Foundation.
In addition, we are offering three new die-cast collectables not
previously offered to dealers: the Tony Raines Hall of Fame car, Kasey
Kahne Fan Design car and the Denny Hamlin FedExCup car. These are

This month, Terry Labonte will drive his last race for KELLOGG’S ™ and Hendrick Motorsports in
the No. 44 Chevrolet. Terry, a native of Corpus Christi, Texas, has chosen his home track
Texas Motor Speedway for his farewell race.
In his 27-year career as NASCAR driver, Terry has 22-career wins, two Cup
championships and an IROC championship! This new die-cast captures
many of Terry’s celebrated moments as a part of NASCAR,
including his most famous win at Bristol in 1995 when he
slid backwards across the finish line with a little help
from pal Dale Earnhardt.

Terry, after many successful years in the sport, took a seat in the No. 5 for Hendrick Motorsports
in 1994 with sponsor KELLOGG’S ™. He won three races in the next two years and then the Cup
championship in 1996, a record 12 years after his first championship. Terry also passed another milestone
as driver for HMS when he made his 514th consecutive start in 1996, a streak that the “Ironman” continued
until he was forced to vacate his car in 2000 due to injuries. In 14 years, Terry, HMS and KELLOGG’S ™
have achieved much, and Terry’s presence on the track will be sadly missed.

Renowned motorsports artist Sam Bass has
created eight fantasy holiday cars this season,
featuring today’s hottest NASCAR drivers. Bass
uses touches of tradition and of course racing
in these unique limited edition designs.
Santa joins the hood of five cars. His Jolliness mimics
Carl Edwards’ back flip on the No. 99 ride, as
snowflakes tumble down over his sled and reindeer.
Santa plays it cool atop The Home Depot car of Tony
Stewart, ruling the Winter Wonderland in his shades
and riding through the orange night in his sleigh.
In the Sam Bass 2006 car, Santa and a host of his
friends appear all “wrapped up” with ribbon and bow
flowing all over the car. Kevin Harvick’s No. 29 also
features Santa with his bag of goodies. Christmas
greenery atop a gold background complete the holiday
look. The Elliott Sadler No. 19 Dodge car showcases a
grinning, shade-wearing cool Santa and an even cooler
friend, Frosty, among the snow flakes of winter.
Rudolph and dancing candy canes adorn the No. 9 of
Kasey Kahne. While Jimmie Johnson and his Lowe’s ®
Chevrolet receive a visit from Frosty snowboarding
across the hood, as Christmas lights sparkle in the
distance. Frosty appears again, trimming the tree,
on the No. 6 of Mark Martin.

For over 20 years, Sam Bass has been
capturing motorsports moments. His passion
for the sport and his unique talent have
made him the most celebrated artist
of NASCAR. His first paint scheme appeared
in 1988 on the hood of his childhood idol
Bobby Allison’s car at Daytona. Since that
time, Sam has designed over 200 paint
schemes for NASCAR legends and stars. He
has created over 300 limited edition prints,
in addition to designing numerous other
pieces of memorabilia. Sam’s contributions
to the sport have given all fans something
amazing to look at every week!

For the Chevy Rock and Roll 400 at Richmond, Kevin Harvick’s
No. 29 GM Goodwrench Chevrolet was jamming, featuring the
rock quintet Barenaked Ladies. The band, who performed the
National Anthem, was excited to be a part of a NASCAR race
but had no idea they would roll into victory lane.
Harvick’s Chevrolet was competitive all night, but it was a last lap
pass that propelled him to his third victory of the season and his
first berth in the Chase for the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup. Harvick also
found victory the night before at the Busch race and completed
his second weekend sweep of the season!
Remember the evening with this win raced version that includes
all the scuffs and scrapes from the race.
In just a few years as a NASCAR driver, Kevin Harvick
has compiled an impressive resume, winning the 2001
Busch championship and Cup Rookie of the Year. He also
took the IROC championship in 2002. But 2006 has been
a record-breaking year for Harvick. He has four wins
including back-to-back victories at Richmond and Loudon
and has clinched the Busch Championship
dominating the series with seven victories
and an average finish of 4.7!

The FedExCup will begin in 2007 with the
champion determined by points earned
throughout the season. At the end of the
regular season, seeding for the playoffs will
be decided and a points reset will occur.
The Playoffs will consist of four events with
the top point getter named champion.
The new playoff-based tour will
also determine eligibility for
next year’s tour.
The FedExCup kicks off on Jan. 1, 2007
at the Mercedes Championships.

Rookie and newest star of NASCAR Denny Hamlin returned to Atlanta last month with a new
paint scheme introducing the Professional Golf Association’s new playoff structure, which will
utilize a points system, much like NASCAR NEXTEL Cup. The FedExCup will consist of a
regular season and playoffs to the championship.
To celebrate this new era in golf, Hamlin’s new paint scheme featured golf ball dimples
and the FedExCup logo in purple, orange and green.
This joint promotion of NASCAR, the PGA and FedEx brings together three organizations

Since the invention of the Chase format, there have been few tweaks to the points
system; however, NASCAR has already declared there will be changes for 2007. What

DODGE ROCKETS IN NHRA
Gary Scelzi, defending Funny Car champion,
powers the Mopar/Oakley Dodge for Don
Schumacher Racing again in 2006. Since joining
the team in 2003, Scelzi’s Dodge has earned 23
top speeds. This year’s paint schemes features the
unique image of the “Mad Scientist” on the hood,
sporting Oakleys, of course. The car also features
the Oakley “O” and Mopar logo.

In June, John Force Racing’s Eric Medlen promoted
