The story
The results
Hydraulic fluid temperatures were
causing problems for Limestone Springs
Golf Club. They were using Chevron
hydraulic fluid on their fleet of Toro
3500D Rough and Approach Mowers,
but halfway through the day, their
mowers would start to lose power.
Once this happened, it would take
more time and fuel to finish the almost
50 acres they mow every day during
golf season.
Maintenance Manager Kevin Cabaniss
then decided to give Schaeffer’s
Specialized Lubricants a try. Using
Schaeffer’s HTC Supreme ISO 46,
Kevin says they saw an immediate 30°
drop in hydraulic fluid temperatures.
Their mowers now run like new
throughout the entire day without any
problems.
The other problem: the maintenance
team was replacing hydraulic pump
seals on a regular basis. It was clear
Limestone Springs Golf Club needed a
hydraulic fluid that could stand up to
the hot Alabama weather.
Lower hydraulic temperatures have also
minimized the hydraulic pump seals
issue. Previously, Limestone Spring
Golf Club was replacing at least one
seal every two months; since switching
to Schaeffer’s two years ago, they’ve
not replaced any seals.
Through Schaeffer’s oil analysis, Kevin
has doubled their oil drain intervals
from 250 hours to 500 hours on the
mowers and other equipment using
Supreme 7000TM Synthetic Plus
15W-40.
