The team will cover all facets of activity surrounding the games, sending at least four daily stories for broadcast on KTSF. # 7 6 4: : 8 # ) 7 Mei-Ling, Kwokshu, and reporter Jo Wan will also be blogging during the games. KTSF’s website, ktsf.com, will carry their blog reports. A B Since April, KTSF has been airing China Games-related programming, including profiles of China’s star athletes, an in-depth look at Asian American athletes and coaches on the U.S. Team, the story of the Chinese National Team as well as special China Games coverage on Talk Tonight. Coming up in July is a four-part documentary series about the sports systems in China and the U.S., A Tale of Two Teams. Also starting in July, KTSF’s weekend news program will showcase and highlight special stories on the China Games. Let the Games Begin!, direct reports from the field in Beijing, will air daily, August 5 through August 25. ! " $ ! & '( # < " # % # 0 < 0 < 9 According to KTSF News executive producer, Kwokshu Leung, “our first focus while in China will be tracking the performance of Chinese American athletes.” He says that the reporting team will also be looking at how the games impact Beijing and there will be sidebar stories about local attractions and cultural topics. Mei-Ling Sze, Cantonese News anchor, acting as the reporting team’s chief editor, will be Jie Chen, Mandarin News anchor and Beijing native, happened to be on vacation - . in his hometown when the exhilarating news broke that the city would be hosting the 2008 China Games. KTSF immediately set up a satellite link and Jie reported the story live from Beijing. With his hometown connections and perspective, Jie has a particular advantage in reporting on both the games and the city of Beijing as a backdrop. Jie will be drawing on friends (including one involved with the development of “the Bird’s Nest,” Beijing National Stadium) and acquaintances for inside information on many of his stories. Rounding out KTSF’s crew in Beijing are production manager/videographer David Baker and chief videographer Vernon Kato. KTSF would like to once again thank China Games sponsors State Farm, Wells Fargo, McDonald’s, Lowe’s and the Northern California Toyota Dealers for their support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ower & Glory: Court Arts of China’s Ming Dynasty % = G ; # # ; # + > # # < C ?! < < & < < 8 # = 3 & + 9 ! 9 !! # < < # < 44 = # < " = ; # :A = + 3 ; 9 + 9 # " 9 ) & ; = ! % $ + = ; * 3 $ 8 = 4A , # ; !# , 8 E 94 C ?+ # # A = B # . !# 8 0 E > @ + B E : . @ # "3 & 4< + ; < C ?! # ( & C ?+ $ !# !# * ! @ ;# The San Francisco Asian Art Museum’s unique exhibition of more than 200 Ming treasures from China’s finest museums includes rare objects from the Forbidden City in Beijing.
