This is an exciting opportunity to spend next summer working as a legal intern in the Beijing office of
the international law firm – King & Wood Mallesons.

We want to hear from 1 year law students with a sense of adventure and an interest in broadening
their horizons.
What we offer:
We offer a summer program like no other. You’ll spend 10 weeks working in one of the most
interesting cities in the world. With a population of more than 21 million, and in its position as the
political and cultural center of China, Beijing offers something for everyone.
With Beijing being one of KWM’s regional headquarters, this internship is unique amongst
international law firm internships. It will provide a deeper insight into the Chinese legal business
culture if you are considering an international career platform in Asia. We’ll provide you with
mentoring from partners and assign you a buddy within the office who can provide tips and insights
into the office and the city. We’ll aim to give you meaningful work, and hopefully provide you with an
understanding of what life is like for an international lawyer in Asia. We pride ourselves on offering
training and development opportunities, as well as a friendly and supportive environment. This is a
great opportunity to work with and learn from both local and expat lawyers in an international law firm
setting like no other.
It won’t all be work though. There’ll also be plenty of time to visit the historical sights of Beijing, soak
up the city’s culture, source the best places to eat and drink and soon find your way around town like a
local.
What we need from you:
No, you don't need to speak Mandarin or read and write Chinese. Yes, you do need an independent
outlook, an ambitious attitude, an ardent desire to see the world, and an interest to apply what you’ve
learned thus far in law school in an international environment
We’ll provide a monthly salary of RMB 4,500 but the rest of the trip’s expenses will be up to you.
You’ll need to pay for your airfare and accommodation, and ensure that you are able to obtain the
appropriate visa (although we will help you with arrangements).
