MSc in Computer Systems Engineering
This programme is designed to enable engineers to develop a comprehensive systems software approach for applications which will provide
an important contribution to the ever-growing computer software industry. During your studies you will explore the design and
development of large, heterogeneous software systems, give consideration to issues such as reliability and performance features of
concurrency and distributed systems, and the management of software development projects. Consideration is also given to a range of
relevant areas, such as mathematical modelling. At the end of your programme you will have gained the specialist expertise essential to the
design and development of high-integrity software for the specification of critical systems.
MSc in Software Engineering
This course offers you the opportunity to explore the latest concepts, methods and tools for software engineering. You will investigate
state-of-the-art techniques relating to software quality, design and development which will enable you to produce robust and complex
systems. This hands-on course has been developed in conjunction with our industrial contacts in order to equip you with the skills required
by employers. You will develop management techniques, advanced modelling techniques and applications that will enable you to progress
your career. The course and some of the modules are delivered directly by industrial practitioners and you will have an opportunity to gain
professional certification. This course has been developed as part of on-going research on software components and Service-Oriented
Architecture (SOA).

MSc in Business Information Systems
This programme offers a balance of theory, advanced practical skills and experience, providing a sound knowledge and analytical ability to
support your professional development. For those with little or no previous computer experience, the programme offers valuable insights
into the use of IT in a business context and an awareness of its best use for strategic advantage. The very latest developments are studied
from the perspective of theoretical research or with a view to complex systems construction.
MSc in Information Management
Management of information is key to the success of modern organisations. Contemporary studies show that information professionals
should take account of business strategy, cultural and behavioural issues, and knowledge and understanding of systems concepts.
Consequently, there is a need for professionals with the knowledge and expertise to employ appropriate approaches to systems
development in a diverse variety of contexts. These professionals should be able to communicate with the business community to identify

MSc in Information Technology (Conversion)
This course is specifically designed for graduates whose first degree is in a non-computing discipline. The principal areas of focus are
programming, networking, hardware and analysis, and your skills in these areas will be developed to a level sufficient for you to apply them
in a professional environment.
You may already be employed within an IT environment, and would like to gain some formal qualifications to enhance your position.
Alternatively, you may have no computing experience whatsoever, yet this course is flexible enough to meet your demands in each case.

MSc. In Accounting
Set yourself apart from the crowd by offering employers the complete package in terms of professional and academic accounting
qualifications. The MSc Accounting (ACCA linked Masters) is designed for aspiring professionals who wish to complete the ACCA professional
accountancy qualification and gain a Masters degree in one academic year.
In order to study via this route, you must have passed or been granted exemption from ACCA papers F1 to F9. You will complete your
professional papers (3 core papers and 2 options) and also complete academic modules, including a dissertation in order to be awarded the
MSc Accounting.

ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants)
The ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) qualification provides you with a sound base on which to build a career in finance
or related areas. As an ACCA trainee, you will develop a wide range of skills, giving you an in-depth knowledge of accounting principles,
management techniques and IT, enabling you to work in any area of finance and creating a world of opportunities for your future. The ACCA
also offers a truly global qualification in that students can choose, in some papers, to be examined using international accounting and
auditing standards. There are also Singapore variant papers in tax and law. This means that your ACCA qualification is truly portable, enabling
you to live and work in many countries around the world.
CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants)
CIMA is quite unlike other accounting or finance qualifications. Its scope extends far beyond pure accountancy and even most management

Diploma in Accounting & Finance
The course is designed to help students understand the theory and techniques involved in accounting and financial management. The
diploma course covers the areas of accounting, auditing, economics, finance, IT and business. Students may apply for exemptions from the
Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants on successfully completing the
course.
Diploma / Advance Diploma in Hotel Management
The Diploma in Hotel Management aims to provide students with a broad understanding of the operational aspects of the international
hotel industry, and a knowledge of the underlying principles involved. This programme has been devised on the basis that students will
attend a course of study of not less than 450 hours. Private study will be required over and above this figure. Each of the modules has a two
and a half hours examination, set and marked by CTH.
The Advanced Diploma in Hotel Management aims to provide an understanding of the managerial, decision making and leadership aspects
of the international hotel industry and to develop independent research and study skills which will be required when working at senior
managerial level in the industry. The scheme has been devised on the basis that students will attend a course of study of not less than 450
contact hours. Private study will be required over and above this figure. Each of the modules has a 3 hours examination, set and marked by
CTH.

Foundation in Business Information Technology
The course has been designed to provide an opportunity for both young and matured students to prepare themselves in an early level of
tertiary education before moving into a degree programme. The course contains subjects that would mould individuals to have required
knowledge for the next level. The subjects consist of a mix of Computing and Business that would provide a general perspective before
joining into a specialized academic qualification.
Upon completion of the Foundation in Business Information Technology students will have been exposed to and gained an understanding
through lectures, tutorials and practical sessions of subjects relevant to whichever degree programme they choose to study, thus providing
them with a sound foundation for their degree studies.

Intensive English
The FTMS English for Foreign Students course is designed with the explicit objective of equipping our learners with the strategies to learn
English. They gain an understanding of the process of English Language acquisition, enabling them to continue with their pursuit of
academic and professional excellence with the FTMS University programs
The course improves the students' listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. Throughout the whole course the integrated approach is
used. The program takes the form of classroom activities in which the students listen, discuss, read and write. As students progress from one
stage to the next they become more involved in listening, speaking, reading and writing required of them in the academic mainstream.
Students gain greater confidence in the use of English vocabulary with contextual accuracy and spontaneity. The Advanced Stage is
integrated with the FTMS University programs to enable Academic English skills development.
At FTMS we believe in a holistic approach to learning seen clearly in our integrated approach of language delivery. The program
encompasses a range of classroom and outdoor activities in which the students listen, discuss, read, analyse, critique and write. As students
progress from stage to stage they become more involved in learning the strategies of listening, speaking, reading and writing required of
them in the academic mainstream.

Business English
This program is designed primarily to improve proficiency in English language to be used confidently, effectively and efficiently in business
situations, involving internal staff and external customer service. Highly effective with intensive learning modules included for selfdevelopment, reinforced with face-to-face teaching.
Participants are provided step-by-step guidance to equip them with the essential macro-skills of language learning principles and
communicative strategies specifically for business contexts, to build their self-confidence with correct and appropriate English. This
intensive course addresses the academic and practical aspects of Business English including pre-assessment tests, demonstration of English
usage in business situations and examination of English principles.

Test of English as a Foreign Language (TIEFL)
The 'Test of English as a Foreign Language' - is designed by the Educational Testing Service (U.S.A) to test the English proficiency of
non-native English speakers. The test concentrates on the areas of listening comprehension, reading comprehension, writing and grammar.
The TOEFL scores are required for purposes of admission by colleges and universities in the United States and Canada and higher institutions
in Singapore such as polytechnics, the National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University etc.
International English Language Testing System (IELTS)
The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is an internationally owned and globally recognized direct English language
assessment that is readily available throughout the world. IELTS is a dependable, practical and valid English language assessment primarily
used by those seeking international education, professional recognition, bench-marking to international standards and global mobility.
IELTS is one of the most respected English language exams. IELTS is owned, developed and delivered through the partnership of the British
Council, IDP Education Australia: IELTS Australia and the University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations.
Diploma in TESOL
The Diploma in TESOL is specifically targeted for those who are interested in teaching English as a second or foreign language. It is also
useful to current practising teachers who want to further their career. This Diploma is an internationally recognized certification that gives
you access to the world of English teaching. Worldwide the demand of English teachers is on the rise, and this Diploma provides entry into
this dynamic and growing market. The LTTC course adheres to international curriculum requirements for TESOL certification.

Computers Labs
To meet the needs of high technology world, FTMS’s computer labs are fully equipped with the latest computer terminals and workstations.
Running on a Local Area Network (LAN) which is multimedia enabled and linked to the Internet by 128Kbps to 2 Mb commections. Based on
an ergonomically designed concept, our computer labs are built to maximise students’ learning experience.
Digital Library
FTMS’s well stocked library refects all the programmes of study offered by the Schools. The library committee of subject specialists,
administrative staff and students ensure that up-to-date references, books, periodicals, information files, CD-ROM references, overseas
journals and recreational reading materials are available to meet the demand of the students.
Computer and Networking
The IT infrastructure is continously enchanced through the injection of new technologies, keeping pace with changing needs.

Interactive Learning
Classroom and computer labs are equipped with Integrated Multimedia Teaching Systems that allow lecturers to observe, broadcast and
control student’ workstation through interactive computer-aided education systems.
The use of visualisors allows students to collaborate on electronic documents, save, print and share the information. All these innovative
interactive learning tools are a key element in building creativity in the learning place.
Interactive Video and Audio, Lecture Theatres and Classrooms
FTMS traning and education campus has virtual communication link u0p with ISDN-based video-conferencing facilities to bridge the physical
distance in order to allow our International faculties to communicate and conduct joint lecturing programmes.
Classroom and lecture theatres have a conducive atmosphere to enchance the students’ concentration and learning experience.

Mentoring Programme
On campus the mentoring system in essence provides support, the opportunity to share ideas, experiences and knowledge while at the same
time easing the transition into higher education life.
First Aid Facilities
A First Aid room is available for those who are in need of minor medical attention or treatment. Trained medical professionals are available
on call for emergencies.
International Students
Services range from welcoming them at the Airport to an orientation programme, which introduces students to campus facilities, student
life, the community and the local environment.
Student Services
Students are welcome to see our counsellors for academic, administrative and personal issues.

FTMS College welcomes applications from disabled students. Special arrangements are made to ensure that students benefit fully from the
academic, social and recreational experiences. Student with particular individual requirements are invited to consult centre managers

Job Placement
Student are assisted with career guidance and employment opportunities in various organisations. This is supplemented with job application
traning, CV writing seminars, interview skills and public speaking.
Photocopying and Copyright
The photocopy service is provided to our students for the copying of study or library materials. Copying can only be done by the staff.
