THE BRIDGE Core Values Client-focused • Dedication • Compassion Patience • Integrity • Respect LEDC is dedicated to building bridges toward independence and acceptance, by partnering with and empowering individuals with disabilities and their families, to participate and contribute within their communities. LEDC is guided by compassion, patience, integrity, and respect. Lonoke Exceptional Adult Clients made their 2nd annual trip to Arkansas Children's Hospital to drop off hats and scarves. They donated over 181 hats and 53 scarves that our clients knitted throughout the year in their “Knitting for Noggins” program. They also dropped off over three gallons of pop tops to the Ronald McDonald House! ELVIS was In the building! We had a special visit from Elvis on October 28th. This event was held to obtain non perishable food items for the local Family Resource Center. Over 385 pounds of food and a 45.00 cash donation was given to the center thanks to our amazing Adult Clients. Its hard to believe almost 40 years ago Lonoke Exceptional School opened its doors. The program originated from the concern of local community members who recognized a need for a program to serve children who were not served in public school systems. We have grown from serving 25 clients to now serving 250 clients. LEDC is dedicated to building bridges toward independence, and we are looking forward to continued growth for our clients and center. This program teaches and enhances independence, life skills and employment development. Maintenance Supervisor Wendell Walker constructed an amazing “Snack Shack” for our adult clients to operate. This idea started with an assignment given as part of management training exercise. This has already been a tremendous success and our adult clients truly enjoy getting the opportunity to work the Snack Shack.
