Bike across little travelled areas and leave the bitumen behind. Nomads, oasis, rugged mountain ranges, spectacular sweeping sand dunes, steep gorges, local people, camels, village homestay and a true highlight of Moto Morocco…..travel along areas of the famous Paris Dakar Rally course. Itinerary Day 01: Marrakech - Taddart - Ouarzazat We start our adventure in exciting Marrakech. Get kitted up and let’s head out of town! Departure from your hotel to Ouarzazate, crossing the Tichka (2200 m), then by tracks through the High Atlas to Télouet. Visit the kasbah of Telouet the highest Kasbah in Morocco. Lunch in a mountain restaurant by a waterfall. Back to the track, take four hours through the Berber villages of the Atlas and Ait Ben Haddou with it’s beautiful fortified villages and the best preserved in Morocco (classified by UNESCO as World Heritage of Humanity) . This wonderful landscape inspired many films such as Lawrence of Arabia and the Nile Diamonds. Day 2: Ouarzazate / 220 Km Boumalne: Trails Atlas, Valley of Roses, Dades Gorge. Head towards Skoura right out of Ouarzazate, mountain track to Toundoute. This track through the villages isolated Berbers of the High Atlas, and then rises in the highlands at the foot of M'Goun (4070m) to reach Toumert. After lunch, descent to the Valley of Roses, and Boulmane by Wadi M'goun. Day 3 : Boumalne - Alnif - Rissani - Dunes Merzouga. 215Km Departure to Alnif, beautiful rolling tracks 50 km through the volcanoes of Djbel Sargho. From Alnif road and sandy tracks to Rissani, the ancient capital of Tafilalet birthplace of the Alawite dynasty. Rissani was also the transit center caravan from Niger and Mali. (Sijilmassa). Take track from Rissani to Erg Chebbi sand passage to Merzouga. Overnight at the camp in the dunes. Day 4 : Merzouga/Rissani/Om Lehdej/Khamlia/Taouz family What better way to start the day than watching the sun rise over the Saharan sand dunes…a sunrise you will not forget. You’ll visit the Gnawa people - originally slaves brought from Sudan -to experience their music and lifestyle. Not far away there’s the lake of Merzouga, with its bird populations. You may also visit the souk in Rissani , a traditional town which was the origin of the ruling family in Morocco and the meeting place of the Caravans trading as far as Timbuktu in Mali. Here you will see a lot of men hooded and women veiled in traditional dress. A true experience of your trip will be to go to Taouz to spend some time with a beautiful Berber family. Enjoy the wonderful hospitality that is known in this region. Day 5 : Taouz Exploring Cross the biggest and highest dunes in southeast Morocco. We will discover the deep desert of Sahara, oasis of Tsardmine, oasis of Azrkam and Saf Saf. Picnic lunch in the desert and later ride back to Merzouga village for dinner and overnight in desert house. Day 6 : Taouz / Ouzina / Ramlia / ouasis of Mharech / Lake Maider 170km Check out some amazing rock formations, then descend along the Oued Ziz by the trail of famous Paris - Dakar Rally course. Pass through the oasis of Ouzina, Remilia. After Remilia very sandy wadi crossing the tracks between Rheris and Mountains to the oasis of Mharech and then to our hotel at Lake Maider Day 7: Mhaerch- Tagounite - Mhamid 200 Kms After breakfast, depart on Oumjrane chott Maider and take the way through the valley of the dinosaurs, a big passage of a slightly sandy plateau, lunch in Zagora. Afternoon track to Tagounite and Mhamid for the night at Le Pacha or track to bivouac in the dunes. Day. 8 : Mhamid - Erg Chigaga - Lake Iriki -Foum Zguid 170 km Departure track is along the Draa, crossing the sacred oasis to reach the big dunes Chigaga; afternoon across Lake Iriki and track along the Djebel Bani to Foum Zguid. Day 9 : Foum Zgid / Ouarzazate 220 km Ride along a rocky track through the mines to reach Djbel Sargho arriving around noon at Taznenarkht city known for its carpets. Take the Tazenarkht track to the oasis of Fint, reaching Ouarzazate in the late afternoon. Day 10 : Ouarzazate / Marrakech Our last day of riding back to Marrakech to end your epic Moto Morocco!
