Xenith 6.1 - Software Installation
Software Loading
•
Software loading for use with a standalone Xitron RIP

Software Loading - Upgrading To Xitron Suite Release 6
•

If upgrading from Xenith v4.2 or below the correct procedure for
installing Xenith Release 6 is to first uninstall the existing software and
then perform a clean installation of the new software
If upgrading from Xenith v5.0 then first upgrade to Xenith v5.3,
followed by Xenith Release 6

If upgrading from Xenith v5.15 or v5.3, load Xenith 6.03 over the
existing installation (upgraded), then install the 6.04.3 patch
–

Note - Where possible perform a clean installation

NOTE - Xitron 6.1 is a chargeable upgrade. Therefore, a new license is
required to upgrade any version before 6.01
Software Loading - Installing The Dongle

Load the Xitron RIP before installing the dongle in order to ensure that
the correct driver is used

Note - If the Xitron dongle is attached to the PC before the Xitron software is loaded
the Windows OS attempts to install its own driver
If the Windows driver is installed Xenith may not run correctly
• Xenith may hang on start up
• Jobs may hang
• Some Xenith processes may continually occupy 50%CPU time
• All installation must be done from an Administrator user
• All persons connecting to the Xenith Server need read and write privileges, or
Administrative privileges

After loading the Xitron RIP software install the supplied dongle on the
PC

Enter the License codes to unlock the specific capabilities purchased with the Xenith
bundle
• If the codes are presented in a text document they can be copied pasted as the
whole group

NOTE - The installer’s default path is always the C:\ drive. Change to X:\ drive as
Xitron SOP dictates

Installer asks for confirmation of the specific Store Locations then
installs components

Finish the Program Installation. Restart the computer

The current build of Xenith requires the installation of two additional
patches to be fully functional. These additional patches are found on
the Xenith Client and Server Packs disk. The service packs are
presented as ISOs and can be accessed after the separate application
Daemon Tools is installed or the ISO can be burned to CD and
installed through the component installer in the Xenith Utilities
•
If a Xenith bundle was ordered, or if a platform was purchased with the
Xenith system, the software should already be loaded and these steps
will not be needed.
•
The Xenith Windows client also requires patch 4_2-3 (also called
Service Pack release V6.1.2.3).

Install the Xenith Server Patches CD and exit the Installer Wizard
screens if they appear

From the Xenith Server Patches directory, drag the Daemon Tools .exe
to your desktop and double click the icon

All three are checked by default. Deselect the top two since they will
also load unwanted advertising

Once the install is complete, Daemon Tools is used to mount the two
ISO images containing the patches

Once the install is complete, launch the application and point to the
newly-mounted virtual drive
