October 2008 Sapphire Mine News Dear Friends: Here at the Spokane Bar Sapphire Mine, ten miles east of Helena, Montana’s capital city, we continue to mine for valuable gems and gold to weather the storms of economic travails and political dramas. Treasures enlighten the day as magnificent gems both small and large encourage optimism and uplift adventurers. This past week: recent finds include a 9 carat sapphire from an El Dorado bag – found by the Green family from Washington; the Steward’s from Oregon found a 7 carat sapphire in an El Dorado bag; the Kenny family from Arkansas, an 8.7 carat sapphire – El Dorado; and, the Merrionan’s from Missoula, Montana found a 5.1 carat garnet and a 4.3 carat sapphire from a Cactus Hill bag. The Merrionan’s said they “had a wonderful experience and fabulous time!” A first time customer ordered a Monster Mine and commented: “I had so much fun going through the rocks, it was so exciting and my sister and I screamed like teenagers.
