studio of Milwaukee-born artist Jon Schueler who is internationally known for his Abstract paintings that have strong roots in nature and light. Schueler’s widow Magda
Salvesen, art historian and curator of Schueler’s paintings, will host you for drinks
and conversation about her husband’s works in his studio. Also included in the tour
is a visit with renowned artist Mary Miss, founder of CALL/City as Living Laboratory,
who is spearheading the Milwaukee city-wide WATERMARKS project in conjunction
with the Haggerty Museum of Art. Director Susan Longhenry will also lead tours of
the city’s top museum exhibitions on view at the time of your trip.

#101 - Asaro Serigraph - Beach at Del Mar, 1993
American artist John Asaro is well known for his paintings
and prints of figures in landscapes informed by the tradition
of American Impressionists. This particular limited edition
serigraph Beach at Del Mar features a seaside scene with
a mother and young children enjoying their time along the
water.

#102 - Jon Horvath But burn, burn, burn (County Hwys S and T)
Milwaukee photographer Jon Horvath was most recently
featured in his second exhibition at the Haggerty, as a
recipient of the 2015 Mary L. Nohl Fund Established Artist
Award. “But burn, burn, burn” (County Hwys S and T) from
Passages, 2014-2015 is comprised of three archival inkjet
prints printed on Epson Exhibition Fiber paper mounted on
Dibond. The dimensions, left to right are: 14 by 21 inches, 14
by 14 inches and 14 by 21 inches. They are signed, dated,
titled and editioned by the artist, in ink, verso.

Sheets, Venice captures light and shadow at play as laundry dries from a residential building on a side street in the

Blum’s signed giclée print of her original watercolor

such juxtapositions as placing the Milwaukee Center atop

#105 - Tom Zust photograph Milk
Australian photographer Tom Zust’s work explores the relationship between identity, artifice, and photographic depiction. He is inspired by fashion, advertising, and commemorative and documentary portraiture, and prods the viewer

Milk. Zust‘s work has been featured in two recent exhibitions

Maurits Cornelis Escher (1898-1972) is one of the world’s most
famous graphic artists. His work plays with mathematics,

#108 - Tramp Art Basket
Tramp Art is a highly collectible folk art form made with small
pieces of wood, primarily from discarded cigar boxes and
shipping crates whittled into layers of geometric shapes,
bringing ornament and whimsy to the most mundane of
items. The first box included in the auction is hand-carved
from a wood crate circa 1915 by an unknown artist. The
second box was hand-crafted with used match sticks circa
1935 by an unknown artist.

Needlepainting – the art of “painting” with a needle and
thread – is an art form mastered by extraordinarily skilled
embroiderers in China. Embroidery paintings are well known
for their rich colors comparable to an oil painting, and for realism found in photography. To create a high quality piece,
an artist needs to split a single silk thread into several thinner
threads and embroider layer after layer with threads of a
variety of colors to reach the final wonderful effect.

essence of the medium. This 1979 Applebaum perfume

This very finely crafted ceramic tea pot by artist Doreen
Baskin is a two-faced treasure. Her ceramic works have

are bisque-fired, and then hand-painted with whimsical
