BEFORE YOU START
• Make sure the surface you are working on is well protected.
A few sheets of newspaper will do the trick.

• H
applying another colour and for clearing up mistakes.
Remove any jewellery. File and shape nails to a
uniform length if necessary. Wash and dry hands or
feet thoroughly, paying particular attention to the nails.
• Before applying any nail art, always prepare your nails by following the nail
preparation program, to ensure nails are clean, dry and grease free before
starting application.
• We recommend that you practice nail art techniques on a piece of paper
before applying them to your nails.
Gently push back the cuticles with the hoof stick and
remove ALL residual skin cells from the nail plate
surface. Skin cells contain oils and moisture which will
weaken the bond of the polish on the nail plate.
• Some practice will be required for applying nail art techniques to the nails
on your writing hand. You may want to get a friend to help.
• When using nail art brushes and tools use a palette or other non-porous
surface to lay out and mix your nail polish colours.

The Nail Art Pens double ended applicator features detailing pen and fine line
brush. Also on the base of each bottle is a pin for unblocking any polish in the
shaft of the detailing pen.

Revealing the pen
Using a large brush (we recommend the flathead
brush) apply two to three coats of your chosen base
colour. This can be any of the Nail Art colours provided
or your chosen nail polish.
NOTE: Best results are obtained when thin layers
of polish are applied. Do not overload the brush
with polish.
Simply pull the top off. No turning is required.
2
STEP 2
Start in the centre, approximately 1mm from the cuticle
and brush towards the tip.
Revealing the brush
© The Dezac Group
Holding the base in one hand, and the top in the other,
unscrew the top anti-clockwise and reveal the brush.
3
using the pin
The pin is located on the underside of the bottle.
Removing the sticker will release it. Use it to push down
the nib of the pen should it become blocked or dry up.
Re-attach to bottle after use.
STEP 3
Then proceed with the sides. Once the nail is
complete, recap the bottle and allow your nails to dry
for approximately 5 minutes before proceeding with
the next coat.
NOTE: Don't forget to clean any varnish from your
brushes immediately after use.

For a straight line, dip the brush into the polish (do
not overload) lay it down on the nail and gently pull
across, you may find it easier to gently turn the
finger you are decorating.
To create tapered strokes, lay the brush down on
the nail and using a quick ‘flicking’ action, brush
across the nail.

Arrange two drops of your chosen polish next to
each other on the palette.
STEP 1

brush
Creating gradients can be quite a messy process,
so to prevent the polish from sticking to the skin,
apply masking tape around the nail.
STEP 2
Dip each side of the brush into the two colours.
STEP 2
Choose a minimum of three colours and lay them
out on your palette so that they run into each other.
STEP 3
STEP 3
Then apply to the nail and brush in a circular
motion, you will see that the colours will blend
together to create the two-tone effect.
Lay the brush into the polish so that the bristles
are fully loaded.
© The Dezac Group
IMPORTANT: Work through the steps quickly as
the polish will dry rapidly once it is on the palette.
STEP 4
Now transfer onto the nail blending the colours as
you move across the nail.
NOTE: Try not to over blend the gradient, as once
the polish starts to dry you may drag the colour
off the nail

using the OMBRE SPONGE
using STRiping tape
STEP 1
ombre

STEP 1
Start by dampening your ombré sponge slightly, to
prevent it from soaking up the polish too quickly,
then apply your polish in three even stripes.
STRIPING
TAPE
Start by trimming the striping tape to fit your nail
and apply to the nail.
TIP: You may wish to use masking tape to mask off
larger or shaped areas of the nail .
STEP 2
Even out the colours by dabbing the sponge on
your palette a few times.
TIP: Make sure you work quickly so that the varnish
doesn't dry before you apply the ombré to your nail.
STEP 2
Rub over with the hoof stick to ensure the tape is
firmly stuck down.

STEP 3
STEP 3
Position the sponge over your nail, press down
firmly and dab a few times in the same spot to
blend the colours.
Apply polish to the nail.
STEP 4
Whilst the polish is still wet, carefully remove the
tape using a pair of tweezers.

Whether you are using the Nail Foils or Lace the principles are the same.
We advise you to do one hand first and then the other, you may want to get a
friend to help.
1
SOLID FOIL: Start by applying a coat of 2-in-1 varnish
and allow to dry. LACE FOIL: Apply two coats of your chosen base
polishand allow to dry.
5
• Nail Art Printing can be applied to your natural nail, or for more striking
results, apply over a base colour of your choice.
SINGLE COLOUR PRINTING
1
Apply a thin coat of foil adhesive. You can cover either
the entire nail or a section depending on your design.
Step 1
Place the printing plate on a piece of paper towel.
Cover your chosen design on the printing plate with a
polish of your choice.

2
STEP 3
Place foil (pattern facing up) over nail. Using hoof stick
rub to transfer foil onto nail, paying particular attention
to edges around nail.
TIP: The transfer side of the foil is the underside of the
roll/less glossy side.
4
• Work through the steps very quickly as the printing polish dries rapidly once
it is on the plate.
STEP 2
Leave for 8 minutes to become completely clear
whilst remaining tacky.
3
• Have some paper towels handy to wipe the scraper between printing.
© The Dezac Group
STEP 1
NOTE: This stage is important as foils do not adhere
well to the natural nail.
2

STEP 4
Gently peel away the backing film. The foil should
separate cleanly from its backing film.
3
Step 2
With a quick light action use the scraper to wipe the
excess polish off the edge of the plate onto the paper
towel. Do not press too hard with the scraper.
Step 3
Quickly press the stamp onto the design with a light
action. Do not press too hard as this may cause the
image to break up.

Applying Nail Beads can be quite a messy process, so ensure that you work over
a sheet of paper or the lid of the glitter pot tray, this will allow you to easily collect
any unused beads and return them to the pot after use. It is also advised to work
on one nail at a time as beads need to be applied to wet polish.

STEP 2
STEP 1
Fruit slices and gems should be applied to wet polish or
2-in-1 varnish.
Apply your base coat to the nail and allow to dry.
2
STEP 2
Apply a second coat and finish off by brushing across
the free edge of the nail.
© The Dezac Group
TIP: You have the chance to move the fruit slices
or gems into the best position whilst the varnish is
still wet.
IMPORTANT: move onto the next step quickly as the
nail polish has to be wet for the beads to stick.
3
4
While the polish or 2-in1 varnish is still wet, use the
application stick to pick up fruits or gems and place
firmly on the nail.
STEP 3
Place your finger over the tray and gently sprinkle the
Nail Beads over your painted nail.
3
STEP 3
Allow 5 minutes for the the fruit slices or gems to set
in place before sealing your design with 2-in-1 varnish.

STEP 4
Press down gently on the beads to allow them to sink
into the polish and fully adhere. Leave nails for 30
minutes to allow them to dry.
NOTE: DO NOT apply 2-in-1 varnish as it will effect the
vibrance of the beads.

FINISHING TOUCHES
glitter
© The Dezac Group
Glitter is applied to wet polish. It can be either applied onto the whole area of the
nail, or selected areas, you may wish to use 2-in-1 varnish for this.
1
2
Striping tape can be applied directly over polish or nail foils.
1
STEP 1
Choose a background colour for the glitter (this can
be the same as your base colour) and paint the area
you wish the glitter to cover. All other areas must be
completely dry.
STEP 1
Trim the striping tape leaving enough length to allow
you to move it accurately into position, place onto the
nail and then carefully cut to size.
2
STEP 2
3
STEP 3
Rub over the striping tape with a hoof stick to ensure
that it is fully stuck down.

STEP 2
While the polish is still wet, dampen the bristles of the
fan brush with water, dip into your chosen glitter and
gently touch the nail to distribute the glitter. Have a
piece of paper under the nail to catch any excess glitter.
This can then be returned to the jar.
Allow the polish to dry and lightly dust the nail with the
fan brush to remove any excess glitter.

The foil isn’t sticking
•
Foils do not adhere well to the natural nail. Always apply a nail polish or
2-in-1 varnish before foil application.
To prolong the life of your nail art do NOT use detergents, such as washing
powders or washing-up liquid, or bleach without wearing rubber gloves.
•
Nail polish has not dried properly before applying foil adhesive, the drying
time is key with this technique.
•
To remove your nail art, use nail polish remover.
•
Note: If you are wearing false nails or nail extensions, do not use a polish
remover that contains acetone, as this may damage the extensions.
If the foil adhesive is still wet or has not turned clear the foil will not stick
successfully.
•
Foil adhesive has been left too long before foil application.
CARING FOR YOUR NAIL ART BRUSHES
•
•
After use, always clean your brushes by dipping the bristles in nail polish
remover and wiping dry on a paper towel. Your brushes will become
damaged if you allow polish to dry on them and leave for a long period
of time.
The nail foil is patchy
© The Dezac Group
•
Foil adhesive has been left too long before foil application.
•
Foil adhesive was applied too thinly.
You can reshape your brushes as follows:
The foil is rubbing off the edge of the nail
- wet the brush
•
- roll gently over a bar of soap
Always seal your designs with 2-in-1 varnish. When sealing with 2-in-1
varnish, brush over and cap the free edge of the nail.
- shape and allow to dry over night
You may find after prolonged use the bristles do not return to their natural
shape, to purchase a replacement, please contact our customer care

NAIL ART PRINTING
Can I remove a printing mistake from my nail without having to paint
the whole nail again?
The stamp is not transferring the design to my nail.
•
•
•
© The Dezac Group
Can I use ordinary nail polish remover to clean the tools and plates?
Clean the edge of the scraper with acetone solution between printing.
•
The stamp only seems to pick up part of the design.
•
Do not leave long between scraping and stamping. If the nail art polish
dries, it will cause bits of the design to be missed.
•
Experiment with stamp pressure to achieve best results, but do NOT
press too hard.
•
Always check the position of the design on the stamp before applying to
your nails. Hold the stamp at an angle to the nail so you can see both
surfaces and roll the design onto the nail.
There is no right or wrong way. With a little practice you will achieve
perfect results every time.
Can I use my own nail polish for printing?
•
No, most nail polish removers contain conditioners, this makes it
impossible to pick up the ink. Only use the acetone solution supplied.
Do I need to clean the plate after each application.
•
No, if you are printing the same design consecutively you do not need to
clean the plate each time, unless you have excessive build up of polish
on the printing plate which is affecting print quality. Always clean the plate
if you are changing the design or using a different colour.
© The Dezac Group
I can’t seem to line up my designs. Am I doing something wrong?
•
Using a cotton bud or cotton pad with acetone solution, lightly wipe over
the mistake.
Remember to work quickly. The most common cause of problems is not
working fast enough and the nail art polish drying on either the printing
plate or on the stamp.
No. The nail art polish is specially formulated with a high colour
pigmentation and suitable consistency.
NAIL BEADS
The beads are not fully adhering to the nail.
•
Ensure that you apply a thick layer of nail polish and sprinkle the beads
over the nail whilst the polish is still wet.
•
Do not over load the nail with beads, if you use too many beads they will
not have enough polish to adhere to.
The colour is coming off my nail beads.
•
Do not apply 2-in-1 varnish or nail polish remover to your nail beads.
