In the Spring of 2015, the School Committees of Dover, Sherborn, and the Region approved the first-ever K-12 Fine & Performing Arts Department Chair and the creation of a K-12 Department. Collaborative work among the Arts faculty has been ongoing for many years resulting in the development of the General Music Curriculum, Visual Arts Curriculum, and multiple district-wide music events featuring students from all four schools. Recognition as a K-12 Department will increase collaboration and communication among the Arts faculty and will insure that all students continue to receive high quality instruction in the creative arts. We have many exciting events on the calendar this year including the Dover-Sherborn Arts Homecoming in October, two District-Wide Music Events, and much more! We hope you will join us! If you would like to learn more about supporting the arts at Dover-Sherborn, please contact the DSHS Friends of the Performing Arts (www.friendsofperformingarts.com) or Friends of Chickering Music ([email protected]).
