Hello to all of you in the
Tampa Bay IOWA Club!
What a difference a year
makes! The football Hawkeyes
ended the regular season with
a victory over Nebraska. Of
note this was the first win in
Lincoln by the Hawkeyes since
the 1940’s! The Hawkeyes finished 8-4 and are headed to
the Outback Bowl on New
Year’s Day to face LSU. Anyone remember “The Catch” the
last time we played LSU?!

Hawkeye Insider Tribute to Eddie Peters
during Hurricane Dennis. Eddie kept
all his TBIC duties and performed
them from Dallas for 1 ½ years, while
also helping to build the Dallas/Fort
Worth IOWA Club.
Eddie Peters has been an integral
part of the Tampa Bay IOWA Club
since 1998. For sixteen years he has
been TBIC’s Vice President and has
also been in charge of numerous
events over the same period. For
instance, Eddie spearheaded the
team effort to establish a TBIC Scholarship Endowment Fund. TBIC successfully achieved the $50,000 goal
in only two years instead of five!
Upon his return to Tampa Bay, in
December 2007, Eddie, brought new
ideas for restructuring TBIC to meet
the needs of all of our club’s members and changes required by the

UIAA. The ideas included: planning a
leadership retreat plus two additional
meetings; re-writing by-laws; developing a logo and branded merchandise; organizing cruises and other
special events...to name a few.
Eddie received his B.S. from Georgia
State University in 1974 and his M.A.
degree from Memphis State in 1975.
Eddie was hired by the University of
Iowa as the Coordinator of Greek
Affairs and became the UIAA Associate Director before moving to Chicago in 1983 and Tampa in 1998.
In 2005, he moved to Dallas after
losing his boat-home, The Sea Hawk,
