the German one.”
Doc. Pavlov from MU Varna

University of Cologne for
5 months
Selecting a place to work after graduation
It’s a fact that most of our young doctors are leaving the country. Statistics
by the Bulgarian Doctors’ Union show that 80% of the young doctors that
are finishing their studies want to leave Bulgaria.
Specialization
According to a recent reportage of NTV the problem begins with the
specialization.
2800 free places for specialization and approximately
1000 doctors applying for them
The main problem here is that the young doctors have to pay for studying to be
specialists but in other countries they are paid to do it.
Choosing a place to work
Bulgarian graduates from MU beside having their specialization
abroad, often think about working there too. A few circumstances
cause these thoughts:
-in other E.U. countries they have 10 times higher salaries
-good offers that include working on their specialty, language course, place
to live, airplane tickets and sometimes even education about their kids
