before your child goes to school.
Baby Bookstart Bag – for children aged 0 to 12 months. Pick one
up from your Health Visitor.
My Bookstart Treasure Bag – for children aged 36 to 48 months.
Ask at your child’s nursery, playgroup or Children’s Centre.

loan in Islington libraries.
Baby Bounce and Under 5s
Babies and young children love
stories, rhymes and songs, and
our relaxed and friendly baby
bounce and under 5s sessions are
great ways to introduce them to
books, reading and learning.
Toy Libraries
We also have three toy libraries
offering exciting and fun toys
for children under five. Toys
encourage your child’s learning
and social development – and
they are free to borrow!
Carers
If you are a childminder,
foster carer or carer of a
child with disabilities, you can
obtain an additional library
ticket which enables you to
borrow extra items.
Find out about the great things
on offer, like books for you and
your child, toys, film, music,
computers, plus holiday events,
with storytellers, entertainers and
craft activities.
You might even enjoy yourself
too as we encourage parents
and carers to join in the very
noisy singing.
•Sessions take place during
term time. Some libraries
hold sessions during school
holidays.
•To minimise disruption,
latecomers to Baby Bounce
may be requested not to join
the session
•Numbers attending may be
limited to ensure sessions are
as effective as possible.
