Live Auction Guidelines
1. A bid is entered when an individual raises his/her bidder number and is recognized by the auctioneer.
2. If the auctioneer determines that any opening bid is not commensurate with the value of the item offered, he may reject the bid and withdraw the item from the sale.
3. Some bids may have been submitted in advance by individuals not present tonight. These will be entered at the appropriate
time in the bidding process by a Phil representative.
4. The Auctioneer has the right to determine and set bidding increments on each item.
5.
The highest bidder acknowledged by the Auctioneer shall be the purchaser. In event of a dispute, the Auctioneer shall have the sole and final authority to determine a successful bidder or to re-offer and resell the item.
6. On the fall of the Auctioneer’s gavel, title to the item will pass to
the acknowledged highest bidder who then assumes full risk
and responsibility.

Friends Scholarship
Each year the Fort Wayne Philharmonic Friends provide
scholarships to nearly 40 deserving young musicians ages seven
to seventeen. Many are students of Phil musicians, and all have
demonstrated commitment, hard work and a strong desire
to continue their music studies. In addition, The Phil Friends
provide scholarship support to high - achieving members of the
Youth Symphony as well as winners of the annual Young Artist
Competition. The Phil Friends are counting on you tonight to
support the future of music, musicians and music lovers here
in Fort Wayne.
Silent Auction Guidelines
The numbers next to the item descriptions in this booklet correspond with
the number on the items and bid sheets.
Bidding for Part 1 of the Silent Auction ends at the commencement of the
Live Auction. Bidding for Part 2 of the Silent Auction ends 20 minutes
following the conclusion of the Live Auction.
BIDDING RULES
1. Please read item descriptions carefully.
2. Each item has its own bid sheet with an opening bid and minimum bid increments. All bids must be in legible writing and in accordance with these rules.
3. To place a bid, clearly write your bidder number and amount of bid on the bid sheet. Your bidder number is indicated on the back of your program booklet cover.
4. Each increase in bid must equal or exceed the minimum increase stated on the card to constitute a valid bid. 5. If several bidders are going together to buy an item, one bidder must be responsible for making a payment, and that bidder’s name should be the one indicated on the bid sheet.
6. Guaranteed bid option. A guaranteed bid option is printed at the bottom of select bid sheets. The rules are as follows:
• Record your bid number in the guaranteed bid section
• You are the successful bidder on that item - no one can out bid a guaranteed bid by marking the guaranteed bid
• You are agreeing to pay that listed amount
• No substitute bid amount will be accepted
7. The Philharmonic reserves the right to take a silent auction item and sell it at live auction at any time during the evening.
Purchasing Rules
1. Items must be paid for at the checkout table.
2. Payments may be made by cash, check or credit card.
3. Payment in full is required at the end of the evening.
4. All sales are final.
5. Carefully read all the terms specified on each gift certificate, especially
the expiration date. Unless otherwise specified, all parties, dinners, trip and vacation home dates must be arranged no later than June 1, 2011, and used at a mutually agreed upon date prior to April 1, 2012.
6. All auction items must be removed from the Fort Wayne Country Club
this evening.

203. The Cover of Prelude
Appear on the cover of our 2011-12 concert program book
“Prelude.” Program book on which your photo (or subjects
chosen by you) will appear will be decided mutually between the
winner and The Phil marketing staff. The Phil marketing staff will
have total artistic and editorial control over the photo chosen. A
photo that has copyright cannot be used. A photo shoot can be
scheduled with The Phil marketing staff. Any other professional
photo shoot used will be at the expense of the winner and must
have a written copyright release form.

Ever wondered how it all comes together
on opening night? You and nine of your
friends will join the Executive Director
of the Embassy Theatre for a behind
the scenes tour of the Embassy and
the Indiana Hotel. Need more theatrical

with Phil president J.L. Nave III. To be
arranged on a mutually agreed upon day. Monday through Friday.
