Member SPOTLIGHT Gymboree Play & Music Q&As with Owners Kelli Knisely & Alexis Reachard What is your business? What product(s) or service(s) do you offer? Gymboree Play & Music We offer early childhood development classes for newborns to 5 year olds to help children develop cognitive, physical and social skills as they learn through play. We encourage imagination and creativity, providing an environment where children are free to move, play, and explore safely. Our programs also promote bonding between the parent and child in addition to building friendships among other parents and children. We also sell infant and toddler toys and musical instruments. What makes your company unique or different from your competition? Our program incorporates a balanced whole-child approach with activities to support and encourage children not only physically, but also cognitively. Our programs are also recognized for their unique approach to parent involvement—which encourages participation in and understanding of each child’s development. How are you moving your company forward? What are you doing to improve your business? Our play environments are designed to deliver the high-quality standard parents expect for their children. To ensure we keep up with that expectation we recently installed newly designed play equipment and incorporated a revised curriculum to further support children as they explore and learn and to enhance the play experience between parent and child. We strive to provide a safe, clean, fun environment for children and are always listening to our customers to improve their experience wherever we can. What inspired you to establish your business, or how did your business get started? We recently opened the franchise in Mechanicsburg because we wanted to bring to the local community a place where parents and children could connect, learn and build friendship together. Especially after having children of our own, watching children learn, grow, and interact has been a passion of ours. We hope our members will make lifetime friendships and form unbreakable bonds as they watch their child(ren) learn and grown together. What makes you most proud of your company? Consistency of high standards, emphasis on parent involvement What are the benefits of owning and running your own company? Being able to offer a service (or product) that you believe in, not just what someone else wants, being able to dictate your own schedule (for the most part), being able to choose the right people to be on your team, and the ability to ensure your employees run the business and provide the service that you desire. What is the best part of your job? Watching little ones master a new skill or start to sing a song in class and watching the faces of their proud parents. Why did you become a member of the Mechanicsburg Chamber of Commerce? We became members of the Chamber to connect with other business owners in the community. What is your favorite Mechanicsburg Chamber event? Jubilee Day (so far!) Gymboree Play & Music 35 Gateway Dr, Ste 114 Mechanicsburg, PA 17050 (717) 600-8006 www.gymboreeclasses.com On December 16, 1916, a group of more than 100 influential business leaders from 35 Pennsylvania cities—representing 50 local chambers of commerce, boards of trade and similar organizations—recognized the need for a unified voice for business in the halls of the state Capitol. Now, one century later, the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry stands as the largest broad-based business association in Pennsylvania. As we celebrate the one century milestone, we thank you, our members, for your support of the Pennsylvania Chamber’s vital mission. The partnerships we’ve forged with our diverse membership have been the driving force behind our long-term success. Happy 100th Anniversary! Lancaster, PA (January 4, 2016) – From January 4th thru February 29th, Isaac’s Famous Grilled Sandwiches will be working hard with our customers to feed those in need in the communities where we work and live. We’ll do this with our 3rd Annual “Get Soup! Give Soup!” campaign using our popular soups that are made-from-scratch daily with fresh ingredients. During the campaign, for every 100 cups of soup that customers purchase, Isaac’s will donate one gallon of soup to a local organization, like a soup kitchen or homeless shelter, that feeds hungry people. Soup is a nutritious and warm way to feed our communities during the winter months. Isaac’s goal is to donate over 1,000 gallons of soup during January and February. In addition, Isaac’s will also donate $1 for every quart of soup purchased during the campaign. Visit http://www.isaacsdeli.com/getsoup.asp for more information and to keep track of how much soup we donate.
