Dear Shri N. Lingana
I have the pleasure to inform you that Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy (IGNFA), is
organizing a two days workshop for officers belonging to 1966-68 course of the erstwhile Indian
Forest College. Initiated in 2008, this workshop has now become an annual feature for all the IFC
courses coinciding with completion of 50 years of the training. So far 7 workshops for 241 officers
have been conducted. Being member of the 1966-68 course, you have been nominated for
participation in this workshop scheduled to be held on
2ih May, 2016 at IGNFA, Dehradun.
On behalf of IGNFA, I request you to kindly make it convenient to participate.

IGNFA looks forward to this workshop as a great opportunity to have the experienced senior
officers back into its fold and to deliberate on their perspectives of concerns and emerging issues
related to forest sector. Besides, it will also provide a great opportunity to the young officer trainees of
the Academy, to learn from the rich and long experience of veteran foresters especially in carrying
forward the values and traditions of the forest service with heritage and value. The occasion rekindles
memories, knowledge and experience and influence sharing and ideation.
During the workshop, there will be working sessions spreading over two days, encompassing
discussions on various contemporary
issues concerning the field of forestry, wildlife and
environmental conservation. The schedule of the sessions would be sent to you shortly. Participants
are encouraged to initiate and participate in discussions on topics of their choice and if they are willing
they may also make a presentation. Intimations on the topics of presentations may kindly be sent to
IGNFA by mentioning the duration of the presentation/interaction, so that the same may be finalized
for including in the workshop.
You may also develop a write-up for documentation and publication. Please visit Academy

Boarding and lodging for all the participants will be arranged by the Academy during the workshop in
its own campus. The travel cost, limited to Air (Economy class)/Train (AC-II) for you, will also be borne
by the Academy. The participants are encouraged to bring their spouse, however the travel cost for
the spouse shall not be reimbursed.
