As a sculptor contemplates a block of granite and sees his next creation

Such was the case in 2002 when a creative couple imagined a winding
drive crossing the edge of a deep lake on its way to a generous home
nestled into the woods edge halfway up the side of a small mountain.

maturity near the charming hamlet of Batesville just west of Virginia’s
favorite small town, Charlottesville.

matured over the following decade.
