Greetings New Parents and Families,
I would like to be among the first to welcome you, parents of new students, to Notre
Dame de Namur University. We have been looking forward to your arrival on campus,
as new members of the NDNU community. We have events and activities planned in
order to assimilate you and your student into daily life here. Welcome to NDNU and
the Argonaut family!
As many of you are already experiencing, entering college is both an exciting and very
busy time, for both students and parents. It can be overwhelming and sometimes
confusing, at least that’s how I felt when my sons went off to college. In order to
answer any questions you may have, or even just to ease some of your stress, I hope this
reception will provide time for you to meet and chat with me and other new NDNU
parents.
Fall semester is packed with activities all over campus. It’s a time for your student to
learn about and get involved in campus life, with fun traditions like cheering on fellow
Argos at sporting events, attending the annual fall homcoming and our many theatre
and music programs. We invite you to participate in NDNU’s community service
groups that give back to the greater San Mateo County/Bay Area community.
We value parental participation and encourage our NDNU parents and families to
get involved and play a role in the life of the univeristy! We are always in need of
volunteers who have some extra time and talent to share. There are opportunities for
participation. Anyone, even those living outside the Bay Area, can join us. For more
