wear no name but Christian. Please come again soon! Paul told the Corinthians (II Cor. 8:7) "But just as you excel in everything in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in your love for us see that you also excel in the grace of giving." We feel that the generosity expressed by the congregation this past week is an example of "excelling in the grace of giving!" You continue to amaze us in the ways you excel  thank you! The total gift was $68,107. This will allow the congregation to do so much more in spreading God's word. Again, thank you. Thank you for all the cards, calls, love & prayers! The radiation treatment has stopped the pain completely. Eight sessions left, & by then, the tumor should be gone! Miss you & love you, Sherry Coldwell Dear Webb Chapel Family, Thank you for the wonderful reception held to help us celebrate our 61st wedding anniversary on November 10th. The Fellowship Hall was beautifully decorated with tulle and twinkling lights. (Was this the same area which was decorated with scarecrows and hay bales for the Fall Festival a few weeks ago?) The chocolate cake was delicious and much larger than our original wedding cake! We appreciate everyone who had a part in making this such a special occasion for us. Love, Rose and Lenord Seedorf ART GARCIA
1954 – 2013
Arthur Antonio Garcia passed away November 27 in Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Mexico, after suffering a brain aneurysm the previous day. He had struggled with lupus and congestive heart disease for several years. Art was born December 20, 1954, in Hereford, Texas, to a family of eight. He moved to Dallas in 1982 and began working with Ermilo Obiedo in radio. He then worked for Bank of America for twentysix years until he was laid off in May 2008. Art and Ermilo met again unexpectedly when Art was about to lose his home. Ermilo told Art about the support group at Webb Chapel, and Art began to come. He was baptized April 5, 2009, and immediately became a tireless, devoted worker for the Lord. Art used his radio experience to assist Henry with Internet Radio and outreach in general. He interviewed the guests on the internet radio program DFW Business Hour and assisted Henry with the daily Prayer Hour. Art was active with Henry in reaching out to area businesses and was instrumental in Webb Chapel’s receiving honorary membership in the Farmers Branch Chamber of Commerce. Art accompanied Henry on mission trips to Mexico and Central America. They also went to various conferences and seminars where Henry was speaking, and Art broadcast the audio on Webb Chapel’s internet radio. Art was gentle and quiet, a brother in Christ of integrity who was loved and respected by all who knew him. He will be missed by so many in so many ways. Arrangements are pending and will not be made until probably the middle of the week. Please pray for Art’s family in Hereford, his followers online, and all who knew and loved him. PRAYERS NEEDED

She is much better but still faces a long recovery. Please pray for Rosa and her healing and her daughters Yomaira, Innirida, and Amanda who are caring for her. AGING RELATED: Rosa Arredondo, Louise Bailey, Jauvada Curtis, Malcolm Hamilton, Athelle Newbrough, Virginia Price CANCER: Randy Bean, Sherry Coldwell, Denny Francis, Megan Kirby, Kathryn Ritchie, Chandler Russell (19yrold niece of Hubert O’Rear), Judi Swayne ONGOING HEALTH ISSUES: Lillie Clevenger, Bobbie Couch, Anne Davich, Sue Elliott, Sue Equivel, Florence Hall, Morris Jones, Kelly & Ginger Lawson, Sammie McRae, Ruth Parker, Bess Petrykowski, Mary Jo Phillips, Consuelo Roncancio, Kami Terashita, James Walker Life frequently shocks us unexpectedly. Sometimes, when our sun glows brightly and we confidently gaze into the future, suddenly out of nowhere, our light turns into shadows while a strange cold fright makes our hearts shiver. Loneliness, doubt, confusion, sorrow, and despair grip our souls. The night brings no rest or comfort. Nightmares of a senseless world creep onto our beds. The morning comes, but the horrors of our dreams stay. We slowly wander, day in and day out, into an awful eternal point of absurdity. Still, at the darkest moment, we hear a voice which tenderly starts a spark of hope in our obscure souls. This happened to our beloved brother Art García. In 2008, he had lost his job and his house. Since he lived by himself, immediately loneliness as a terrifying black hole began to devour his life. Soon his health would precariously decline, maybe a toll of severe stress. At that point, Ermilo Obiedo invited him to Grupo Apoyo (our support group). Art accepted the invitation. For a few days, he quietly sat and listened, but one day, he gained the courage to talk about his weakness. He realized that we all have fallen, and he felt the company of other broken souls. At some point, in a mysterious and unpredictable way, Art recognized that the voice he heard was not Ermilo's, nor anybody else's in the group. It was God's! Art became more attentive. He showed up in worship Sunday after Sunday. The voice became crystal clear, and Art believed and obeyed. God turned him into a happy man, quick to serve. Never again did he talk about the job or the house he lost. When he mentioned his health, it was to brag about the exceptional deeds God had done to his body! He had been delivered from death in the hospital and his kidneys were 30% functional  That was enough for him. It meant no dialysis was necessary. He was a blessed man! Surely, His Savior had a purpose for him. Art gave his life to reach out to others with no hesitation. During his few years as a Christian, he touched many lives. Sometimes, ugly loneliness would appear again in Art's life. It lied trying to convince him that his life was worthless and that no one cared. He had some tough struggles. However, God's voice firmly and tenderly reassured him that he was loved and was not alone. Art probably never fully understood what God was doing through him. On Tuesday, November 26, 2013, he passed away in Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Mexico. Why was he there? One of OurPlanetLive.org listeners messaged him on Facebook about a gospel meeting being held in that city. Art dedicated many hours to OurPlanetLive ministry. He became excited with the idea of visiting a new city and knowing a new church, so on the spot, he resolved to go. However, he indeed did not attend one meeting. About one hour after landing in General Roberto Fierro Villalobos International Airport, he suffered a fatal aneurysm. A few hours later, he arrived at his final destination. He had gone to Chihuahua hoping to meet a few more members of his new spiritual family, but instead, he was received by a multitude of brothers and sisters in the Father's home. Imagine his surprise as he discovered how large a family was expecting him. As soon as the news of his death was posted on Facebook, dozens of people, here on earth, posted messages. They expressed their sincere love and condolences. Art had personally met some of these people in his home church, Webb Chapel Church of Christ, or as he visited the churches in Hereford, Oklahoma, Houston, Daytona, Matamoros, Monterrey, Monte Krystal, Matehuala, Santiago de Maria, and Santa Gema. However, there were many people he had never met. They knew about Art through OurPlanetLive.org, his main ministry. They had only communicated with him through our chat room or Facebook. Still, the feeling was the same. Christ's love, poured into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, flowed through the Facebook posts. A few of us, knowing that many of these people did not personally know Art, marveled at the profound mystery of the spiritual bond of Christ which brings us together so beautifully. Others probably just wondered about how Art could have so many true friends in so many places. Art Garcia has gone to heavenly Zion. We will always remember him. Quietly, he left his footprint among us, both physically and through his online ministry in OurPlanetLive.org. Let us take a moment now to give thanks to God for the blessing of this amazing family that we call the church, sometimes small and frail, often imperfect and faulty, but always filled with the presence of Jesus. Let us thank God for Art Garcia, our brother, and His gift us. Art Garcia now rests in peace, eternally secured in the arms of our Lord. We will soon follow him. Let us all remain faithful!
