GENOA CFC
Genoa C.F.C. are the oldest football club in Italy and one of
three teams who make up the ‘Pioneer’s Cup’ an annual
event hosted by FIFA involving the three oldest football clubs
in the world. The club play in the beautiful Northern Italian
port City of Genoa, alongside their local rivals Sampdoria.
Genoa play in Serie A and wear the colours of red & blue
with their signature golden griffin on the club’s crest that
can be seen all over the city.
The region of Liguria where Genoa are found is home to
some of the most beautiful scenery and landmarks in the
whole of Italy. The city is the gateway to Portofino and the
Cinque Terre along the Ligurian coastline whilst the Porto
Antico (Ancient Port) in the heart of the city is filled with
history and wonderful architecture.
CHIEVO VERONA
Chievo Verona play in Serie A and are known colloquially as
the ‘gialloblu’ (the yellow and blues) which are the club’s
iconic colours. Based in a suburb of the ancient city of Verona
– Chievo have recently invested in a $5 million development of
their entire set of facilities both at first team and academy
level. They now operate a thriving International Program and
work at all levels in the local community.
The region of Veneto where Chievo are situated is within a 30
minute drive of Lake Garda and close to Venice. It features
some of the best local cuisine and wines in the entire country
and the local landscapes and villages are a quintessential
picture of Italian life. The city itself is a busting multicultural
location with the colosseum, Romeo & Juliet’s house and the
famous Opera House all key landmarks to visit.
