welcome - Girl Scouts–Arizona Cactus
welcome
Welcome to the magical world of summer camp at
Girl Scouts–Arizona Cactus-Pine Council, Inc. Camp
is a place where girls can create memories, make
new discoveries, develop lifelong friendships and
learn new skills. We strive to make camp a place
where girls can become the best they can be, learn
to care for and protect the environment and feel
a part of the camp community. At camp, girls are
empowered to step outside their comfort zone, take
risks and grow as leaders. All the programs and
sessions offered through our camps are designed
to fulfill Girl Scout Leadership Experience outcomes
while challenging girls to do new and exciting
activities–some of which are only offered at camp.
Please take time to explore which camp is right for
your camper. Whether your camper is new or a
seasoned camp veteran, there is a program for her.

Counselors and Staff
Camp Directors recruit and screen mature, qualified
staff who have a desire to share their enthusiasm
for camping, the outdoors, and arts. We also hire
staff from other countries to give your camper the
chance to broaden her understanding of other
cultures. All camp staff participates in an intensive
pre-camp training which includes program, first
aid, CPR, camping, human relations skills and drug
testing.
Girls with Special Needs (including special diets)
Please contact the Camp Director for campers
requiring special diets (including severe food
allergies), special health care or with mobility
limitations. To be successful at camp, your camper
needs to be independent with self-care. Your
camper needs to be able to be successful in an 8:1
camper to staff ratio. We are dedicated to serving
ALL girls in our council and accommodations can be
made in many cases.
Be a Volunteer!
This year we are looking for volunteers to make
a difference at Day Camp on the Road. As a
volunteer you will assist a unit of Girl Scout Day
Campers with their day-to-day activities or lead
the group through an activity that you work with
the Unit Leader to implement. If you, or someone
you know who is 18 or older, is interested in
volunteering during one (or more) of our Day Camp
on the Road sessions, please contact Justina Burks at
602.452.7138 or [email protected]
*the minimum commitment is 2 days during any one session.
