MISSION STATEMENT
We will serve as a respected voice of the Italian American community through print and
electronic media; honor and perpetuate our Italian heritage, culture and traditions and be a
conduit to facilitate communications and civic initiatives.
VISION & POSITIONING
Whether or not you are of Italian descent, La Gazzetta Italiana wishes to connect with Italians,
Italian Americans and admirers of the Italian culture and language. Through the use of both
the Italian and the English language, we will take you on a 360 degree journey of the Italian
peninsula through its kaleidoscopic and multifaceted culture to embrace the latest news (live
coverage online at www.lagazzettaitaliana.com) culinary specialties, unique travel destinations,
classical art, music and literary geniuses, the latest trends in fashion, design and architecture,
and much more. We will also focus on our Italian-American communities, their news and
events and provide coverage of prominent individuals who have contributed to the betterment
of our societies and are proud ambassadors of their Italian heritage here in the US.

Editorial Team
PETER A. SPITALIERI, FOUNDER & PUBLISHER
As the founder and president of La Gazzetta Italiana since 1992, Peter has been the visionary
for the direction of the newspaper, under PAS Publishing Co., for ten years including its
restructuring and launch of its online vision. He holds an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of
Business and a B.S. degree in Economics and Mathematics from Hiram College.
ANGELA SPITALIERI, PUBLISHER
Angela oversees national and international operations of the newspaper both on print and
online. Since June 2003, she has ensured smooth sailing of all sales, advertising and marketing
campaigns at La Gazzetta Italiana. She holds a degree in Industrial Psychology from John
Carroll University.
PAUL SCIRIA, MANAGING EDITOR
Paul’s seventeen-year career as both a television and radio reporter brought him to Channel
3 WKYC Cleveland as well as radio stations KYW, WJW, and WERE where he co-hosted
the popular senior audience radio show, Off Your Rocker. He has been editor of La Gazzetta
Italiana since its inception and currently serves as managing editor.
DOMINIC SPITALIERI, DIRECTOR MARKETING
Dominic manages and edits the content for the print publication, digital copy, website and
supports the marketing campaigns. Dominic is also responsible for all Social Media. Dominic
graduated from John Carroll University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management.

Publication Overview
La Gazzetta Italiana began publication in May of 1992 to meet the growing
demand by the Italian American community in the Greater Cleveland area for
an Italian American newspaper.
The publication’s primary objectives at that time were to not only recognize
our proud Italian HERITAGE, TRADITIONS & CULTURE but also to
disseminate recent news, upcoming social events and local achievements.
