I have
a big blister on my right hand. This does not sound. normal for a preacher, but I clo have a big
blister. And I worked up that big blister out in the Hazel Miller Cornrnunity Gardens. Been out there
fol the pasl two momings. 'Ihis morning, I decided to go to the Farmer's A{arket dow' o' the square i'
Charlestou. All I had to do at the rnarket was to decide what produce I wanted to buy. Back o't in the
gardens, I had to work if I wanted to take home produce in a month or so.
Let me tell you this. There are a lot of wonderful loohing tomato plants. But not one of them is rni1e.
They belong to others. I was late planting my tomato plants. They are coming along as well as the
onions, lettuce, and green beans. Because of no rain lately, I have hauled out water. ThaI is O.K. I
needed the exercise.
Now, let me tell you about another garden. The garden that is growing at the SON HARVEST
COUNTY FAIR. Tlie fruit being love, joy, peace, and patience. By Tuesday evening, rve had over fifty
children in attendance. What a grand tirne tending to this garclen. I have beeu leJing in music, anrl
most of it nelv rnusic especially for our Vacation Bible School. I want to tell you that this has been hard
rvor-k but a lot of fun. 'Ieaching the childlen new songs is a blast ft'om the Good Lord. I have been
cioing lhis fo'' 2 % hours each evening. I arn tired r,vhen I get hor1e. But what a wonderf*l tired, filletl,
rvith satisfaction beiug with the childlen, watching them learning and growing.
This coming Sunday evening, June
there will be a closing progran at our Church. Corrre antl join
supper will be served.
Games for everyone. The children singing for: you and with J/ou to the glory of God. Come and join in
the fun.

(Disciples of Christ) to speak for Worship at g:30 a.rn. Pastor Vik, his wife Rebecca ancl their daughter
Rachel are originally from India. God has sent thern to be rnissionaries to India ancl the United States.
Pastor Vik and his farnily moved to the U.S. in 1999, obeying the Lord's call in his life. IIe servecl for a
short tirne as arr Associate Pastor at the Charleston Community Church. Pastor Vik is
