recharged as a parent. In ECFE classes,
parents gain realistic expectations for
themselves and their children.

Missoula Children’s Theatre
for ages Kdg - 18 years
Missoula Children’s Theatre presents RUMPELSTILTSKIN,
an original adaptation of the classic children’s story conceived
and written by Don Kukla, with music and staging by
Michael McGill. A strange little gnome appears from here,
there and everywhere. He will spin your straw into gold...for
a price. If his price is too steep, you must guess his name...
RUMPELSTILTSKIN! Join in the fun of Festival Time and
help Clara guess the mischievous little gnome’s name. You will
also encounter a Jester, Villagers, Wizards, a Queen, a King, Knights and a band of busy little Bees.
This heart-warming tale of mischief and friendship answers more questions than just “What is that little
man’s name?”
Missoula Children’s Theatre, the nation’s largest touring children’s theatre, arrives with a set,
lights, costumes, props and make-up, everything it takes to put on a play...except the cast. They are
looking for 60 local students that want to further develop characteristics such as creativity, social skills,
goal achievement, communication skills and self-esteem through participation in the performing arts.
The show is rehearsed throughout the week and two public performances are presented on Friday
evening and Saturday morning. Also included in the residency are three enrichment workshops. This
unique, educational opportunity is being brought to the community through a joint effort by the Blue
Mound Area Theatre, the Green Earth Players, and Community Education.

One of the most celebrated and lauded musicals in American
theater, this Rodgers and Hammerstein classic contains
a treasure trove of memorable songs from “Bali Hai”
to “There is Nothin’ Like a Dame” to “Some Enchanted
Evening.” Set in an island paradise during World War II,
this sweeping romance tells the story of two couples – a
U.S. Navy nurse and a French planter, and a Marine Corps
lieutenant and a young local girl – and how their happiness is threatened by the dangers of war and
prejudices of their times. We will stop for a mid-morning food break and a supper stop after the play.

Financial Aid Available
We want all children to participate in activities.
We have funds available to help with fees or there
are opportunities to exchange work hours for
fees. Contact Community Education 283-4724
by May 19, if interested.
Class Supervision Policy
Parents: Realize that supervisors/coaches have
other responsibilities and in most cases will need
to adhere to the start and end times of classes very
closely. Please do not drop your child off early
for class and make arrangements to pick up your
child promptly. There is no supervision ahead of
the start time and the supervisor may need to leave
immediately at the end time for his next activity.
Take time to show your child where the Community Education office is located on the south
side of the building. If he/she is ever unsure of
what to do or is scared, direct them to go to Community Education to find an adult that will help.
Parent Conduct
Parent(s) wishing to discuss an issue or idea
with a coach or supervisor may schedule an
appointment to talk to the coach, supervisor
or summer recreation director 24 hours after
the game or event. Parents are not allowed
to enter a dugout or field of play to voice
concerns during a game or event.

B.E.S.T. Boys & Girls Basketball Camp
for students who attended grades 3 -11 during 2015-16
Basketball’s Effective Shot Training instructs,
evaluates, and develops players at all levels in the
offensive fundamentals of basketball, utilizing
individual attention from qualified instructors to
correct each student’s shot and footwork. Players
train at game-speed so they are confident, mentally
strong, and more successful in competition.
Discipline, teamwork, and hard work are
developed through specific individual workouts
which teach essential skills that lead to success on
the basketball court, at school, and in the world.
Students are given assignments that need to be
worked on over the week and completed by the
next week so that learning progresses throughout
the weeks. Register according to grade attended
this past year. Whether you are just getting started
or want to enhance your current skill level, this
camp is a great option right here in Luverne. Open
