A Note from Deacon Tim:
Did You Know?
Funeral Liturgies: The “normal” liturgical services for a Catholic are: (1) a Vigil service on the night before the (2) Funeral
Mass, which is then followed by the (3) Burial. However, the
decisions as to what services are desired are up to the family
members. Preplanning services are offered at Christ the King so
that each person’s wishes (readings from scripture, music, etc.)
can be selected prior to need. This is most often done while the
individual is still healthy and able to make their desires known. It
can also be revised as often as desired.
Grief Support Group meets on Tuesday, November 1st,
at 11:00am in the Community Center, Room #1.
If you have lost a loved one in death, please join us as we
offer support for the bereaved through the difficult holiday
season. Knowing what to expect and being prepared can
help lessen the emotional impact during the coming
weeks. For more information, please contact Linda Moses, Pastoral Associate, [email protected], or 214-3651203.

Help Us Help the Poor & Needy in Our Community
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul at Christ the King assists people with temporary emergency needs. In pairs, SVdP Members humbly visit needy families in their homes to provide solace and evaluate their needs and determine how we can help
them with our resources. During the past month we assisted 9 families, with various needs including rent, utilities, food and
clothing which totaled over $1,551.00. We invite parishioners to join us and live their faith through this service to others.
Our work is not possible without your continued financial support. If you would like to help with a cash donation,
please contact us at 214.365.1247 or email us at [email protected]. If you have some household items or clothing you no longer need, please donate them to the St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store. Christ the King hosts a “Bundle
Sunday” the 1st Sunday, of each month, 2-5 pm, to collect items or the Thrift Store. The next Bundle Sunday is
6th November 2016. To schedule a pick-up of furniture or large item(s), call 214.373.7837 or email [email protected] and they will be pleased to schedule a time convenient for you. Also, you may drop off donations at
the store 3052 W. Northwest Highway, Dallas, 75220, 7 days a week.

100% GUARANTEED
Few things in life are absolutely guaranteed – but death is one of them.
No one gets out alive, as they say. Since you can count on it, why not
plan for it?
A unique service offered by our parish is assisting with preplanning your
funeral vigil and Mass. We will walk you through the process step by
step, and your family will be ever so grateful – guaranteed!
Please call Deacon Tim at 214-365-1202 to arrange a convenient time
for a 30 minute appointment to discuss your wishes. He will document
everything for you and it will be ready and waiting for the day God calls
you home. And for you younger parishioners – no age is too young to
make your wishes known…
For the safety of the children parents
should accompany their children, under 12, to the restrooms. Neither the
restrooms nor the vestibule are monitored during Mass, therefore, adult supervision is required.
