Also a self-taught contemporary painter, he recently
had one of his paintings honored by the Tampa Bay
Lightning for their Celebration of the Arts. Inspired
by the tropical nature of Florida and the Gulf Coast,
his works combine bold use of colors and imagery
to make his paintings versatile and memorable. 2015
will mark his first gallery showing of his collection of
work.

from the chairman

n behalf of the Shrimp Festival committee and the
Coastal Alabama Business Chamber, let me welcome
you to the 44th Annual National Shrimp Festival
presented by Zatarain’s. Thank you for joining us in our long standing
and fun tradition held directly on the Gulf of Mexico. What started as a one
day event, held under the traffic light at the end of Highway 59, has now
grown into a four day festival covering several city blocks with hundreds of
booths. Our growth is a result of great visitors like you!
This event showcases a great community of warm and friendly people
filled with southern hospitality. The Shrimp Festival committee, which is
almost entirely volunteer, works very hard to provide that environment for
your enjoyment. We search for the best local and regional artists, entertainers, retailers, and
food vendors.
With over 40 food vendors, you should find just what you like to eat. Our Fine Artists
will display beautiful pieces of art for your enjoyment and purchase. Arts and Crafts will
provide a wide variety of items small and large for you to consider showcasing in your home
or condo. Be certain to visit the RE/MAX of Gulf Shores sponsored Youth for Art area
located within Fine Arts and Arts & Crafts. The Retail Marketplace section will appeal to
everyone who might be shopping for gift ideas or something for yourself. Don’t forget to get
your official Shrimp Festival gear from our pink tents, it’s not official unless you purchase it
from our pink tent! Be sure and take the family out to the Sandcastle contest on the beach
and let the kids check out the Children’s Activity Village. It is always a big hit!
One of our two newer areas of the Festival, Outdoor Village was started a few years ago
for the outdoorsman in all of us. Check out this exciting new addition to see what’s there
for you. Singing for Scholarships, former Shrimp Festival Idol, will showcase local, amateur
talent from each of the Baldwin County high schools. Watch them compete for scholarship
prize money for themselves and their respective schools. And finally, The Organized Seafood
Association of Alabama, The Alabama Seafood Marketing Association and Zatarain’s have
teamed up to bring you a unique and creative experience. Come sample the Alabama Gulf
Seafood Experience at the Seafood Sampling Tent and watch local restaurants prepare
the Restaurant Challenge winning dishes, featuring Alabama Wild Shrimp and Zatarain’s
seasonings.
A special thank you to the City of Gulf Shores for everything they do to help and allowing
us to have this great event in their city. Also, many thanks to the City of Orange Beach for
partnering with us to help make this event a success!
Remember to find all information and FAQ on our website,

Have a great weekend!

PERFORMANCES AND TIMES SUBJECT TO CHANGE
entertainment
Gulf coast music veteran Adam Holt takes the stage with a
brand new band and a fresh new sound. Sixteen years after
he declares his professional job title as ‘musician,’ he is still
packing a punch with his blues-infused southern rock. His 4th
and latest album, The Sunday Troubadour, is evidence of that,
with Nashville-penned songs delivered by a beat up Les Paul,
playing through 100 watts of pure Marshall tone. Add Holt’s
standout, warm, rounded whisky voice to the mix to finish off
the melodies, and you’ve got a sound defined as “New Southern Rock.”
Betsy Badwater hammers down a stout distillation of
rockabilly, country, blues, soul and high-lonesome. Betsy
writes the songs, sings, plays guitar, and a tambourinetopped bass drum all at the same time. The Americana
bandleader insists on organic instrumentation, guts-outgospel vocalization, and rich, passionate, storytelling.
In just the last 4 years, Betsy has recorded three 16-20
song albums, toured annually and has opened for many
of her heroes. Betsy Badwater & The Hillbilly Chrome
have performed as supporting act for David Allen Coe,
Chris Thomas King, Rodney Atkins, Ray Benson & Asleep at the Wheel, Larry Mitchell Band, Buckwheat Zydeco, The Ten Foot Pole Cats, Ramblin’ Steve Gardner & Bill Steber, Miss Izzy Cox, and more.
Brent Burns is not only a local, but the only local artist reaching a
national audience with his hit CD “Living the Life Jimmy Buffett Only
Wrote About.” Like a hurricane, Brent blew into the Gulf Coast more
than 20 years ago and has been causing a stir ever since.
Cary Laine, the blue-eyed beauty from
the beaches of Alabama may be the biggest thing to enter the Alt Country music
scene since Dolly Parton. Armed with an
acoustic guitar and a powerhouse voice,
her tone can put its listener at immediate attention as she delivers her
message with no apologies. This sassy southern girl is a mixture of
southern soul, country, rock, and blues....her voice a combination of a
little grit and a little sweet timbre. Since her national introduction on
NBC’s The Voice (and turning all four chairs) in 2014, Cary has been
touring the country, writing new material, and recording her first ever
full length album, Miss Alabama. Teaming up with producer, multiinstrumentalist, and long-time friend/mentor
Anthony Crawford, Cary has found a home at Admiral Bean Studio.
Dale Drinkard, Jr. is a guitarist, singer, songwriter from Citronelle, AL.
Dale has been performing professionally since he was 18 years old way
back in the 1880s, or it sure feels that way most days. Music has allowed
him to travel to the farthest reaches of the county even across statelines
every now and again. With a love of all musical styles, Dale is a bit of a
musical enigma. It is hard to pinpoint exactly what style it is that he thinks
he is playing.

David Jones has emerged from the Gulf Coast of Alabama with a
fresh new approach in the world of jazz. Simply classified as “soul jazz”
this unique sound brings together the sounds of R & B and soul that he
grew up with and combines it with the smooth jazz vibe that he fell in
love with over 20 years ago. After 30 years away from writing music
David sat back down at the piano and wrote 8 of the ten tunes on his
debut soul jazz CD “Beautiful Music.” The CD is receiving rave reviews
from the advanced copies that have been distributed. The single “Let
The Players Play” is receiving airplay all over the US and is soon to be
a hit.
Proudly hailing from southern Mississippi, Derek Norsworthy is not
your typical singer/songwriter, but rather an original modern artist
with a high-energy show, outstanding songs, and memorable image.
Derek has toured the
southeastern region of the US playing college towns,
renowned venues/festivals and opened for number of
national acts such as Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert,
Frankie Ballard, Thompson Square, Parmalee, Dustin
Lynch, Brantley Gilbert, Charlie Daniels, 3 Doors Down
and Alabama to name a few. Derek’s lyrical vulnerability,
magnetic personality and vocally stellar live performances provide songs that are clean, real and connect
with fans of all ages.
Dr. Zarr’s Amazing Funk Monster Grab your bell bottoms, platform
shoes, and best Saturday Night Fever moves. When Dr. Zarr’s Amazing
Funk Monster is playing, there’s no way you can resist the dance floor!
From disco to 80’s New Wave, these guys are an energetic, fun, and
professional party band.
Eric Erdman is a
storyteller with a
life that gives him
stories to write
songs about. His guitar takes him around the
world and he can write four songs from one break
up. A successful Kickstarter campaign funded his
new album, Not
Slowing Down. It
was recorded in
Muscle Shoals and it is filled with eclectic songs. There is 70’s funk,
pop rock ballads, a cowboy song and even a reggae murder mystery.
For Gregg Fells, music isn’t an option. It’s a calling, a consuming
passion that drives him day in and day out and provides an emotional release. Since making a total commitment to bare his soul,
and soulfulness, in the intense, melodic and inspiring music that he
creates, Gregg has been making serious waves in a short time along
the Gulf Coast areas of Alabama and Florida.

Just like the twinkling blooms of southern Star Jasmine, singer Holli
Mosley’s voice infuses the air with sweet, sultry melodies that are taking
this budding artist straight to the top. From opening the stage for the likes
of Jason Aldean, Blake Shelton & Travis Tritt and into the hallowed halls
of Muscle Shoals’ FAME Recording Studios, Holli has positioned herself
alongside some of the most venerated southern rock & soul performers of
the last 50 years. Under the tutelage of FAME Studios President Rodney
Hall, Holli is perfecting her sound with hand-picked writers and seasoned
session players dubbed the new FAME gang—a modern day version of the
studio’s legendary rhythm section.
The Jason Abel Project showcases singer-songwriter Jason
Abel’s unique, catchy and from-the-heart songs. With great leads
and melody, you’ll hang on to every word, while moving to the
beat of this up-and-coming band.
Jonesy’s Crowned Jewelz
Band Yo Jonesy began to
play the trombone when she
was 11 years old. It was at
the age of 13 that she started singing in school and show choirs
in her hometown. Later, she traveled to Tampa, Florida for the
Broadway Music Project to study with various entertainers and
producers from across the globe. From wowing listeners with her
vocals in her father’s band to singing as a teenager, it became
very clear that music would be a huge part of her. With her determination, natural gift and diverse style as a singer, songwriter,
and musician, the story of Yo Jonesy is far from over.
Lee Yankie is a guitar player and singer-songwriter who has been
playing the Gulf Coast as a full-time musician since 2002. He formed
his own band Lee Yankie & the Hellz Yeah in 2005 in Gulf Shores,
AL. The band has morphed a little over the years but has remained
mostly a power trio completed by two horns, and in and out original
Hellz Yeah member, Chris Spies on keyboards. Lee just released his
first album in August of 2012 “the Leavin’ Sound.” This album is a
mix of all of Lee’s influences, including blues, country and jazz and
has plenty of his signature slide guitar work. Lee & the Hellz Yeah are
regulars at the Florabama and other venues along the Gulf Coast and
will be releasing a new album this Fall, “Hwy 98 Revisited.” For more
info see www.facebook.com/leeyankie
Hailing from south Alabama, Les Hall spent years touring
the Gulf Coast and Southeastern region with various bands. A
jack of all trades with an extensive music theory background,
Les can be found on drums one night, guitar the next, piano
the following night or fronting his own band in any given town
throughout the Southeast.

Lisa Christian has been performing on the Gulf Coast for the last 11
years. Her smooth, bluesy sound has made her a local favorite. Lisa
has recently recorded “Lisa Christian At Sunset,” a collection of new
original songs and a few vintage gems. To find out more about Lisa
Christian, and to download Lisa’s music, go to www.lisachristiannation.

Lisa Dotolo is a solo acoustic artist,
based in Nashville,TN. Her music is a
blend of Inspirational, Folk, Americana,
Pop and Country. Lisa began to write
songs as a young girl and continues to
write many different styles of music. Presently, Lisa performs in acoustic venues with her guitar. She plays coffee shops, festivals, colleges,
churches and any venue that will host original music. She is currently
touring nationally and promoting her third CD called “Resurrection,”
which is a combination of original songs and inspirational hymns.
Cutting through boundaries is one way to describe
singer-songwriter Lisa
Mills. The Mississippi
native-Alabama resident has been steadily building a devoted, even fanatical following in the US and the UK over
the past few years. Her distinctive sound absorbs elements
of southern soul, gospel, blues, a little bit of country and
some rock ‘n’ roll and makes it completely her own.
Mainstream Band is a Country, Southern Rock, Rock ‘n’
Roll, Classic Rock, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, and today’s music
with Electrifying Solos, Dynamic Duos, and Powerful Vocals
with wireless & lead technology, which allows everyone to
be part of the show. Mainstream Band plays everything from
The Eagles, Bon Jovi, Elvis, Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean, Blake
Shelton, and everything in between. Mainstream Band has
something for everyone.
The Molly Ringwalds are
The World’s Greatest 80s
Experience. Hailing from Sheffield, England, this legendary quintet
has been able to combine their individual and very formidable
talents to create the true essence of the most radical decade to
ever be called “The 80s.” The Molly Ringwalds create an 80’s
Experience by honing their abilities to apply make-up and tease
their hair while showcasing all the musical genres of the decade.
From their days of building a following at a pub located in a large
portion of a big city near a small village located south of a place
you’ve never heard of, to selling out large venues in the United
States, The Molly Ringwalds are an indescribable act.

Mother Mojo is a mainstream rock band from Mobile, Alabama. The band is comprised of four experienced musicians
with diverse musical backgrounds that, when combined, give
an intensity and energy that is well received. Since forming
in 2014, the band has become a fast favorite in the area, and
received great reviews for their performance at that “Locals
Only” Festival hosted by the “Brickyard” in Mobile. Currently,
the band is focusing on writing music, and performing along
the Gulf Coast.
MR.X, one of the regions premiere early 90’s rock bands will reunite after 20+ years. The all original line up consists of John Anthony, George
Eberlien, Leslie Linton, Lewis Ross and Stephen Harrison. MR.X was
formed in 1989 by the former members of Frontrunner and the Wet Willie bands from Mobile. The band was known for their high-energy live
shows, playing to sold out crowds at such venues as Trinity’s Downtown
in Mobile and The Pink Pony Pub on the beach in Gulf Shores. MR.X
released a self titled album in 1990 with songs such as Mardi Gras in
Mobile and Babes in Shades which received major airplay throughout
the southeast.
Patterson, Danley, & Reid is an ensemble of Arkansas songwriters
who have been delighting audiences for years with their eclectic brand
of Americana. Through the sensitive artistry of Justin Patterson, the
mystical musings of Laura Lynn Danley, and the satirical wit of Gene
Reid, this combo blends their distinct set of influences into one unique
acoustic sound. Come enjoy the finely crafted songs of PDR.
The Perdido Brothers hit the stage
running from the very beginning as these
three guitarists found their sound immediately performing one another’s songs
like they had been playing a lifetime together. This definitely shows the individual experience these musicians
and vocalists have had with their craft in years past. Still without one
single rehearsal to date, The Perdido Brothers create their own sound
and arrangements simply by using their ears and talents on each and
every performance. They currently have a new CD that was recorded digitally live at the Florabama
one evening last year...and the reviews have been outstanding.
With the onslaught of independent recording artists that come and go
like Calvary soldiers attacking and being slaughtered by Yankee troops,
it’s hard to know who has any real ability to stick around for a welldeserved victory as a full time, professional recording artist. Robert Lee
however, is the real deal. Riding high atop his latest recording endeavor
Alabama Dirt, the thirty-year-old North Alabama native spins tales of
love, heartache and the illusion of romance like a songwriter well beyond
his years. With a voice caught somewhere between Stone Temple Pilots’
Scott Weiland and country music bad boy Steve Earle, Lee’s music is
rebellious, angst ridden, and full of authenticity.

Rhythm Intervention is a band that truly represents its
name. Hailing from the Alabama/Florida Gulf Coast area, the
band combines elements of Reggae, Rock, Punk, Pop, etc. to
create an intervention of music, hence the name. With plans
to record an album before years end...the sky is the limit for
this hungry, hardworking band.
Ryan Balthrop
will once again be
bringing a large
group of the best musicians on the Gulf Coast to this year’s
Shrimp Fest. Balthrop is set to release his third studio
album “Fall Together.” Produced by Rick Hirsch at Studio
H20 in Mobile, the album stretches across several genres
of music, with clever hooks, themes about life, strife, love,
learning, with some comedy thrown in. You can purchase
Ryan Balthrop’s music on iTunes or find all links online at

Sand Band is a group of local professionals who grew up playing
music in other parts of the country but ended up along the Gulf
Coast getting together to continue playing music. You’ll enjoy
contemporary hits along with plenty of rock ‘n’ roll covers from
their early gigs.
Sandra Kaye With Midnight
Confessions is a talented,
versatile group, performing
current Pop/Country/Funk with
some Oldies/Blues/Adult Contemporary songs. MNC offer a “Musical Buffet” with dance and sing-a-longs a priority. This 5 member
Band from the Pensacola area bring happiness and excitement to
the crowds of Gulf Shores, 5 nights a week for over 5 years! They
perform as the “House Band” at Nolan’s Restaurant and Lounge in Gulf Shores, Alabama.
Over the past 10 years, Seth Walker has become recognized
as one of the most revered modern roots artists in the United
States; a three dimensional talent comprised by a gift for combining melody and lyric within a song, a rich, Gospel-drenched,
Southern-inflected voice and a true blue knack for getting around
on the guitar. On his latest studio album, Sky Still Blue, produced
by Oliver Wood of The Wood Brothers, Walker delivers a masterwork that further expands
upon this reputation.
Much like their derivative name, Southern Drawl Band is a
melting pot of sound, attitude and entertainment. Defined in
categories like Country, Southern Rock, Tropical Rock, and even
Bluegrass, Southern Drawl Band attracts a range of listeners
from a broad spectrum of music genres and extends no restric-

tions on a targeted audience. Their unique trait of extraordinary music and song writing, along with
impressive entertainment style and unforgettable live performance is what sets this band apart from
any other on the market.
Strickly Isbell has come on hard in the Gulf Shores/
Orange Beach music scene in the last two summers,
playing at restaurants, bars, private parties and weddings. Roger Strick and Courtney Isbell have over 30 years
combined live music performance experience. They play a
wide variety of pop and country favorites with some blues
and classic rock thrown into the mix. You don’t want to
miss their next show....you won’t be disappointed!
Just one
listen is all it takes to understand why Sugarcane
Jane is quickly becoming one of the Gulf Coast’s most
popular bands - one with an extremely devoted and
loyal following. This high-energy folk rock duo, made
up of husband and wife Anthony Crawford and Savana
Lee Crawford, bills its unique sound as “Organic Music
at its Finest.” The music is home grown and natural,
and draws from a deep well of roots influences. Listeners can expect mostly acoustic sounds (guitar and
mandolin), and some of the freshest-sounding vocal harmonies they will ever hear.
The Tip Tops are a high-energy dance and show band with
a musical emphasis on the 60s, Motown, and rhythm and
blues. The Four Tops, Otis Redding, The Temptations, Elvis,
Sam Cooke, Kool and the Gang and The Commodores are just
some of the artists the Tip Tops touch on.
2013 People’s Choice
Award winner Top Hat &
Jackie have been singing
partners since 1997. This
husband-and-wife duo covers a wide range of styles, including
country, folk, pop, rock, and blues. Available CDs range from
originals to Christian/gospel to covers. Mix in some comedy, love
songs, and beautiful harmonies, and you’re ready to have a great
time with Top Hat and Jackie.
Tommy Morse Band have been
rockin’ together for the last six years
and show no sign of slowing down.
They will be bringing a huge variety
of music that will get you out of
your seat and dancing for sure. This
four-piece band takes talent and
showmanship to the “next level.”

Ty Bates made his first parlay onto the country music scene when
he won the Longhorn Steakhouse “Sing It Like Jake” contest. The
win granted Ty the opportunity to sing alongside Jake Owen at
Jake’s hometown show in Vero Beach, FL and acquired notable attention from press outlets including a Country Weekly feature. His
debut, self titled EP premiered Fall of 2014 containing five songs
all recorded at the famous Warner Brothers Studios. The album
climbed to #22 on the iTunes Country Album Chart.
The Underhill Family
Orchestra is
a rowdy, warpaint-wearing, arm-swingin’-footstompin’ 6-piece Rock ‘n’ Roll/Americana outfit from
the Alabama Delta. Since their formation in 2009,
these twenty-somethings have produced two albums
worth of music and played all over the southeast
and the midwest bringing their sound, which mixes
gypsy/jazz/folk/spiritual/soul/rock ‘n’ roll and other
surprises, to the ears and hearts of thousands of
people.
Velcro Pygmies are everything that’s right about rock ‘n’
roll. Loud, fast, larger than life, and always in your face.
Big hair, big lights, big sound. They’re a trip back to the
days when rock ‘n’ roll was designed to blow the speakers right out of your Trans Am. Van Halen, Poison, Def
Leppard, Bon Jovi, that kind of stuff, with a heathy dose
of humor and crowd interaction complete the experience.
Get your good time on with The Velcro Pygmies!
Vic Saul is an internationally-acclaimed Solo, performing Singer-Songwriter-Guitarist originally from Birmingham who has released 6 CD albums since 1997, toured
many countries around the world including England,
Wales, Scotland, Ireland, France, Belgium, Holland and
many dates across the U.S.A. “From the East Coast to
the West Coast but we really love the Best Coast.”
The collective musical experiences of Willie Sugarcapps mingle
together to create a new kind of organic and artisanal
music. It’s laid back, it rocks, it comes from classic country, from the blues, from New Orleans and from the best
kind of rock ‘n’ roll. It tells a story through five individual
voices full of character and experience with humanity,
energy and soul. It’s comforting to know that music in
the hands of these five artists still happens for no other
reason than purely the sake of the music itself.
