MISSION STATEMENT
Created in June 2008, the Independent Living Region exists to prepare foster youth to successfully transition from foster care to adulthood.
Our goal is to promote Education, Permanency, Employment and Health & Safety. Our focus is to provide and link youth to resources which
promotes self-sufficiency and independence.
This Resource Directory is one of the products derived from our efforts. It is divided into four categories: Education, Permanency,
Employment, and Health & Safety. This directory is updated annually. For further assistance with services/resources listed in this directory,

in the community. Will participate in

community outreach to educate others

The Center Against Sexual Assault
(CASA) is a non-profit, community
based agency whose mission is the

disabilities to resolve conflicts that

Care assistance, housing referral,
The purpose of Community Action
Group is to be an advocate of the
people of the Casa Blanca Community
and their needs. Open only to
residents of Casa Blanca area.
Ages of 18-25 or an emancipated
minor. Program seeks to assist young
adults, aged 18-25 to engage in
services and/or remain in care, obtain
stable housing and end the cycle of
hospitalization or incarceration.
Eligibility requirements:
To suffer from a serious mental health
disorder, wrap-around service
supports, lack of ability/skills to live
outside which has resulted in
homelessness or at risk of being
homeless, and repeated psychiatric
hospitalizations or incarceration.

The Hire-A-Youth Program prepares
young adults between the ages of 1621, for employment opportunities. HireA-Youth participants know how to work
independently or as a team, meet

Shared Housing offers assistance to low income,
economically disadvantaged or displaced persons
who need affordable housing and homeowners who
have decided to rent out a room in their home. Indepth interviews are conducted to determine those
most likely to be compatible.
Shelter/housing
Provides financial and technical resources for low
income rental and house purchase in rural areas.
Agency offers affordable senior housing based on
the 40% to 60% of the median income for
Riverside County. Low income individuals ages 62
and older
King Hall is a 12-24 month transitional housing
program for families with children, including men
with children and single chronically homeless
women. Program offers individualized case plans
including housing and employment skills training.

Management companies will possibly provide
financial assistance to move in – need to call them
once you receive listings.
Program provides assistance to all individuals
diagnosed with HIV/AIDS and their families.

12-Step based Women and Children’s Sober Living
home, 450 per month plus 75 per child monthly
(utilities included), job placement.
20-unit, 118 bed, two-bedroom apartment campus
offers up to two years of housing and support
services to women and children who have resided in
an emergency shelter and who require additional
time to attain emotional and financial selfsufficiency. All residents receive professional,
individual and group counseling on a weekly basis
during their stay. Strong case management that
focuses on education, budgeting, time management
and self-sufficiency is a critical part of this program.
All adult residents are required to work and/or
attend vocational training to avail themselves of
support services and agree to save 30% of all
income.
The Navajo Trails Transitional Housing Program is
designed specifically for men and women who are
HIV positive and homeless. Individuals who are
eligible for this program are eligible to maintain
housing for a period of two years. Case
management services are available to assist the
individual in accessing resources that address HIV
concerns, mental health, and addiction issues.
Permanent housing program is designed to house
individuals who are permanently disabled and
chronically homeless. Individuals who enter
program will be housed in scattered sites. Services

RTA Dial-A-Ride (DAR) is a curb to curb
reservation based transportation
service. RTA has three DAR services:
Intercity, Senior and Disabled, and
General Public. DAR priority is given to
individuals who are certified under the
Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Intercity service is strictly for persons
certified under ADA. The only
stipulation with this service is that you
must be traveling between cities. You
cannot travel within a single city. ADA
Intercity connects with other Intercity
services for travel throughout Riverside
County. Senior or Disabled service is for
persons age 60 and over and anyone
carrying an RTA Disabled I.D card. This
service operates in Lake Elsinore,
Jurupa, Moreno Valley, Murrieta, and
Temecula. General Public DAR services
are offered in Calimesa, Homeland,
Romoland, Norco, Perris, and Sun City.
ADA certification is done through an in
office interview that lasts 25-30
minutes. There is no paperwork to fill
