Bethany va (peut-être) aller à Paris… Youpie!
A jury of 8 agreed unanimously on 7 May that amateur photographer #1 had supplied
pictures that best represented sport in Australia. Bethany’s 2 photographs have now been
sent to the International Alliance Française Photo Competition Committee for her chance to
win a whole-expense paid week in Paris, the capital of love.

A big thank you to French Professional Photographer,
Alexis Leblais, for his advice during the Q&A session.

continents !

#1 Find words you already know;
#2 Find cognates (same or similar in English);
#3 Look at the context (what is it about?).
http://www.lemonde.fr/elections-americaines/
#1 words we know: New Jersey, Barack Obama, 15, Donald Trump
#2 cognates : cérémonie (ceremony), diplômes (diploma) université (university), mai (may)…
#3 Now look at the context to find out the meaning of the other words
Could remise mean remitted, as in given or sent? The diplomas were given, as in presented. Oui!
So here the giving refers to the presentation of diplomas at Rutgers University…
A close verb in English is delivered. Here it fits perfectly ! Barack Obama delivered a critique…
Now try the Eurovision text on page 2. Bonne chance!
