A Rolex 17 Rubis Panerai 3646 wristwatch, originally produced for
the German and Italian navy circa 1941-1943, with 'Volcano' dome
and deep blue face with yellow dial, marked FAB. Suisse, Rolex 17
Rubis to movement and Brevet to crown, length from lug to lug

A Chinese enamel lidded bowl, Kangxi four character mark (16621722), the 'U' form bowl, rising from a low footring with traditional
scroll designs, and surmounted by a domed cover with flower
head and gilt ball finial, the exterior sides painted with four roundels painted with traditional Chinese landscapes, set with auspicious characters and bamboo palms, the cover with a series of
enamelled buddhistic emblems and chrysanthemum and lotus
sprays, 9cm high. Sold £6,700

A WWI Gallantry medal group comprising Military Cross
and Military Medal, awarded to Private (later Lieutenant)
Joseph Bloor Private 3284 Joseph Bloor originally enlisted
in 1915 to the Gordon Highlanders he won the Military
Medal on the 13th November 1916 in which time he has
the rank of Sergeant he was later promoted to Lieutenant
Bloor on the 21st November 1917 where upon he won the
Military Cross whilst serving with the 1st/8th Sherwood
Forester's in 1918, also with medal group is a British War
Medal and War Civilisation Medal, also with this lot is a
card from the Newton-in-Makerfield local heroes congratulating Sergeant Joseph Bloor on his award of the Military Medal, a certificate congratulating Second Lieutenant J Bloor M.M. of the Sherwood Forester's for his award of the Military Cross dated 20th February
1919, his Officer's Commission, pay book, photograph of Lieutenant Bloor, letter from the War Office regarding his resignation in 1920, silk work card from J Bloor to his wife and family, British Expeditionary
Force Gallantry on active service congratulations dated 13th November 1916, Glengarry, with further research etc. Sold £4,300

A WWII RAF Gallantry Award to Flying
Officer Eric Leeming Hartley, comprising
distinguished Flying Cross, 1939-45 star,
Atlantic Star, defence Medal and 1939-45
medal with mentioned in dispatches oak
leaf, Flying Officer Hartley of the Royal Air
Force Volunteer Reserve no. 58 Squadron
was patrolling in his Halifax on September
the 27th 1943, in the Bay Biscay, they
spotted a surfaced German U boat later to
find out it was commanded by HansHartwig Trojer (known by his crew as Count
Dracula), Flying officer Hartley immediately
dived to attack then issued a gun fire fight
between the plane and the submarine began, the Halifax dropped a number of
depth charges which eventually sank the u
boat, during the gun fight unfortunately
the Halifax sustained severe damage and
had to be ditched in the region of three miles away from where the action took place, unfortunately not all
the crew survived however the ones that did managed to get into a dingy and survive for eleven days before
being rescued by the crew of HMS Mahratta, also in this lot is a group of miniatures, Cap badges, copy of
London gazette dated 12th November 1943, letters of congratulations to Eric Hartley, copies of the Battle of
the Atlantic and Coastal Command, photographs of the crew being rescued from the dingy one bears signatures of the various crew, various research, three photograph albums relating to Eric Hartley's career in the
RAF to include a trip to Nova Scotia, a typed report relating to the attack on the U boat and the subsequent
time spent in the dingy, newspaper articles, notice the award published in the London Gazette, Eric Hartley's
pilots flying log book etc. Sold £2,700
