FROM OUR PASTOR
Dear Friends of Holy Family School:
It’s great to have you with us tonight. In the middle of
winter it’s a blessing to gather, enjoying good food and
good company – all for a good cause. Tonight our feasting
and fellowship comes during the season of Lent, a time
when we turn our hearts to hopes of renewal and deeds of
compassion; a time when God turns the hearts of parents
to their children, and the hearts of children to their parents…” (Malachi 3:24).
Tonight we thank God for the gift of our children and his
entrusting them to us. They are our greatest treasure. We
show our thanks to Him by generously supporting one of
the most important ministries of our parish: Holy Family
School.
Have fun tonight! And as you enjoy the evening remember
that Jesus is here with us, unseen but very much present.
That is the Ultimate Reality.
God bless you and hold you,
Fr. Dan
REALITY
FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Reality TV has become such a part of our American
vocabulary and entertainment option that it was a natural
choice for our 2013 Auction Premiere theme. Whether
your tastes involve following housewives from various
cities, races and survival games across the planet, or my
favorites – cooking competitions and fishing in dangerous
waters – reality tv shows seem to have something for
everyone. Tonight, we are glad you’re setting aside the
remote control to be here for our own HFS Reality Show. A
huge Thank You goes to this year’s Co-chairs, Tricia Thien
and Lisa Lancaster and to all their helpers for their many
hours and talents to make tonight successful! Also, we
thank Doug and Mary Ann Harritt, whose generosity and
professionalism has made each live auction fun, exciting
and rewarding. We are truly blest!
We hope that tonight’s honorees, Butch and Kathy Wilt
and their family have a great evening, and we thank them
for their loving stewardship to Holy Family Parish and
School! May they continue to be renewed and blessed as
they serve our parish community!
Finally, on behalf of the faculty, staff, and of course, our
children, I wish to express our sincere gratitude to the
Holy Family Home and School Association and Auction
Committees, the Huber Orchard and Winery family,
sponsors and donors, and all the volunteers who have
creatively labored to make tonight special. To all our dinner
guests, we hope you have a terrific evening, and we thank
your for your generous support!
Sincerely,
Jerry Ernstberger

2013 HOLY FAMILY AUCTION
Auction Rules
Getting Started
Your assigned bid number with your paddle will be in your
packet at your reserved table. Use this number for the Silent Auction, Classroom Baskets, and Live Auction.
Please Note: Your packet includes this booklet, your bidding
paddle, your name tag, and a pen. If you have questions not
answered in this program, please ask an Auction Committee
member. We’re here to help you and wish you an enjoyable
evening.
Silent Auction
To place a bid, simply locate the silent auction bid sheet
that corresponds with the item you wish to bid on and
place your bid number and bid amount where indicated.
To be valid, remember there is a minimum bid increase of
$5.00!
An auction committee member will validate the winning
number to initiate no more bids.
Live Auction
The Live Auction is planned to start at 8:00 p.m. When bidding, hold your paddle toward the auctioneer and bid spotters. The last and highest bid acknowledged by the auctioneer
will be the purchaser of the item. The auctioneer’s decision is
final. Once you have made a successful bid, you will be asked
to sign a bid sheet to verify your purchase.
Payment
Your registered bid number or signature constitutes a legal contract to buy. All sales are final and there will be no
refunds or exchanges unless specified in the item description. All items and services must be paid in full by the end
of the evening. Any gift certificates purchased should be
picked up at the payment tables. We will accept cash,
check, MasterCard, or Visa as forms of payment for all
items except the Wheel of Chance and Trip Raffle (License
#129593).
Because of charity gaming laws, the Wheel of
Chance and Trip Raffle can only be bought using cash,
check, or debit. NO CREDIT CARDS are accepted!
2013 HOLY FAMILY AUCTION Removal of items
In order to avoid any errors, your items will be gathered
for you by an auction volunteer. Items will not be collected
until payment has been made. Please be aware of “display
only” items! All items must be removed by 11:00 a.m.
Sunday, unless you make arrangement for another pickup time with Tricia Thien. It will be assumed that items
not removed by Sunday at 11: 00 a.m. will be forfeited as
unwanted merchandise and will be removed by the Auction Committee.
Warranties
The Holy Family Auction Committee has attempted to
catalog and describe all items and services correctly. All
property is sold “as is.” Neither the committee, school,
nor parish warrants or represents, and shall in no event
be responsible for the correctness of description authenticity, authorship, provenance or donation of property. No
statement contained in the catalog or made orally at the
sale or elsewhere shall be deemed such a warranty, representation, or assumption of liability for tax purposes or for
general value. All Trips, Outings and Events hold an expiration date of February 23, 2014, unless otherwise noted on
certificates or contact sheets.
Limitations
Restaurant certificates do not include liquor, tax, or gratuity.
Tax Purposes
For tax purposes, you may deduct as a charitable contribution only the amount that exceeds the fair market value
of any items purchased, including admission. Since admission is valued at $50 per person, this cost is not tax
deductible.
Thank you for supporting Holy Family School!
