City Limits, the 2014 Auction Party! I think
it is safe to say that there is no other school
in the country who “auctions” with as much
commitment, creativity, and enthusiasm as
the Episcopal School of Dallas.
On behalf of the School, I would like to thank
the many parents, teachers, staff, and friends
of the School who have generously donated
time, talent, and funding to this remarkable
event. Tonight would never be possible without the stellar leadership of
Cecilie Holman, Nancy Saustad, and their team of supporters, roadies, and
stage crew! In addition, I would like to thank the Parents’ Association who
has pledged all the proceeds from tonight in support of the goals of ESD
Tomorrow. Your gift has an enormous impact in the success of the plan,
now and in the future.
ESD City Limits is so reflective of the commitment to the ESD community
and the mission of our great school. The location of this year’s auction is
reflective of the cutting edge, big audacious thinking that is happening at
ESD! Thank you, as well, to the ESD parents who helped make this special

AUCTION RULES
CHECK-IN
At check-in guests will receive a bid number to use in the Big Board and Live auctions. A credit
card must be provided at check-in in order to bid on items. Accepted forms of payment are
Master Card or Visa.
BIDDING
Big Board
To bid on Big Board items on the touch screen, enter your bid number and then enter the minimum
bid displayed or enter the maximum you are willing to pay for the item. The computer will bid for
you, up to your maximum bid. The auctioneer will announce when Big Board will start to close.
If there have been no bids for 60 seconds, the item will close as scheduled at 10:00 p.m. If there
is bidding activity on an item during the last 60 seconds, bidding time will extend until there are
no new bids for a period of 60 seconds for that item. The touch screen monitors will display a
countdown starting at 9:59 p.m. before closing a Big Board item. All sales are final.
Live Auction
To bid on Live items, raise your bid number or hand to be recognized by the Auctioneer. Once
the auctioneer says “SOLD”, the winning bidder must hold up his or her hand until the sale is
recorded. The winning bidder will be presented with a bid sheet to sign. The bidder’s signature
confirms the purchase price of the item auctioned. Your bid, oral or written, is a binding contract.
All sales are final.
PAYMENT & CHECK-OUT
Auction winners must pay for all items before leaving the auction. Upon full payment guest will
be given a “paid” receipt and then they should pick up the merchandise at the check-out table.
Gift certificates will be distributed at the time of payment. All items should be taken home the
night of the auction. Items not taken home the night of the auction will be available for pick-up
at the office of Mary Beth Weinberger in the Development Office at the Upper School through
March 21, 2014. After that time, gift certificates will be mailed to the winner with the risk of loss
being on the winner. All other items will be considered a donation to ESD and resold. There will
be no exceptions.
CONDITIONS OF SALE
All transactions will be by bidder number. All items are sold as is. All sales are final. There will be
no refunds, returns or exchanges of items. Gift certificates are not redeemable for cash. All items
are subject to the donor’s restrictions, if any. Airline and trip arrangements are subject to availability.
Where trips or special events are involved, dates must be agreed upon by both the purchaser and
donor. Vacation homes, trips and entertainment suites are donated for adult or family use only and
may not be sold to third parties or donated to other organizations. Taxes and tips are not included
unless specifically noted. Federal, excise, state and local tax must be paid where applicable by
the purchaser. All Auction items must be used or redeemed by March 1, 2015 with no exceptions
unless otherwise specified. Any dispute will be resolved in a manner designated by the auction
mediator and the Parents’ Associations President, in their sole discretion. All decisions of the
auction mediator will be final and binding on all auction participants.
