Welcome To The Sale - What a super sale lineup we have for your inspection and
purchase – ALL in one place, ALL at one time! Save yourself time & gas chasing the
country and the internet when you can see one big choice, all in one day right here in
Corsica. Good honest horses from our Reputable customers. All catalogue horses have
been guaranteed sound unless called otherwise in the sale ring.
This month’s Sale brings World Class Bloodlines at their best! There may not be as many
Catalogue Horses this month but there are 50 Special consignments to the Loose Horse
Sale held prior to the Catalogue sale. Be sure to check them out if you are looking for a
Broodmare, Stallion, Yearling or Weanling.
Remember, we have the big indoor arena where you can watch the saddle horses perform in
our Preview held prior to the sale. And with the Owners permission, you are also able to try
out the horses before the sale. What a great opportunity.
We expect more catalogue consignments and will post to our website as they come in. ALSO
expect 50 or more saddle horses and ponies to our Open Consignment sale that follows the

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
ATTENTION BUYERS
7. A new halter will be provided with your
horse purchase. All ride and lead in horses
are haltered and tied after they are sold and
leave the ring. A $2.50 fee for the halter will
be assessed the buyer with seller paying an
additional $2.50.
1. Please have your driver’s license
ready to present when registering for a
number.
2. All out-of-state buyers paying by check
must have a current letter of credit on file
to receive a bidding number.
8. Phone or mail in bids are welcome.
Buyers need to make arrangements by the
Friday before the sale for credit references.
3. A purchase invoice will be filled out for
each horse purchased by a buyer. Name
and address is to be filled out exactly how
the purchaser wants a horse registered. We
will not be responsible for errors on transfer if purchase invoice is not properly and
clearly filled out.
9. Writing an insufficient funds check
the size of a horse purchase is a
FELONY. Any person writing an insufficient funds check for a horse purchase will be turned over to the States
Attorney for prosecution. Immediate
legal action will be taken.
4. All horses listed in this catalogue are
guaranteed sound by their owner. The guarantee is strictly by the owner and not the
sale management. Right of recourse must
be directly to the owner and not through
South Dakota Horse Sale, owners, auctioneers or managers. We act only as agents
for consignors in the sale. Soundness to
include sight out of both eyes, not to crib,
hit the ground on all 4, & good in the air.
10. Longtime, regular monthly buyers, easily recognized by our staff, may apply for a
permanent V.I.P. buyer number.
11. We DO NOT allow private horse trading in the yards, alleys or on the premises
before, during or after the sale. Any offender
to this policy will be banned from the premises. All persons selling no-saled horses on
the premises after they leave the ring must
pay full commission in the office.
5. Be sure to inspect any horse of interest
to your satisfaction BEFORE you buy. A
veterinarian is available prior to sale time to
answer any questions. When horse leaves
the ring all sales are final.
12. For convenience in the quick location
of a certain horse, horses will be penned
in numerical order throughout the yard
beginning with Lot 1 nearest the check-in
gate.
6. We DO NOT charge sales tax on horse
purchases in South Dakota. This can be quite
a savings to you on a several horse purchase.
HEALTH & COGGINS
OUT-OF- STATE HEALTH & COGGINS LAW – All out of state horses that are being rode or led in will need
a health. All BUT North Dakota Horses will require a Neg. Coggins to receive a health certificate. South
Dakota horses do NOT require either health or Coggins certificates.
NOTICE NEBRASKA CUSTOMERS – Due to a recent positive positive EIA (coggins) case in Nebraska,
(Cherry County) all horses INCLUDING LOOSE, require a health to enter South Dakota. However, if your
horses are strictly going to processing plant or feed lot & is so stated on the health certificate by the
veterinarian, they will not need a Neg. Coggins, just a health.

one with the great confirmation & a resume, one that
has been to the pay window & is gentle & solid for
anyone to ride. Our Buyers know the difference and
will pay the price. Big drop in prices for your average looking horse that has not worked for a living or
earned his way at arena & rodeo events or is green
broke, especially mares. High cost of training &
feed along with no base or weigh up price big factors. Supply & Demand is the name of the game – far
less of the quality ones. We can use a lot more of
the finished solid geldings to meet the demand.

weighing 700 to 1000 lb and needing to go to Feedlots before they will be accepted at plants, usually
sell 10 to 20 cents a lb. Horses over 1000 lb selling
for 25 to 35 cents lb. Takes a awful good No. 1 to
bring 35 cents a lb & we see few of those. No good
positive news on US plants opening. Law Suits by
Animal Activists against the government are one reason plants not opening.

Ever wonder what the famous Snippys Cowboy Looked Like? Well here is his photo. He was the AQHA Champion son of Cow Lady Drift, & accumulated 203 AQHA points in many events including a Superior in Reining. The
beautiful AQHA Champion, Snippys Cowboy would be 38 years old today. Note how back in the 1970’s, the proper
appearance for horses was a shortened tail and a “buzzed mane”, just the opposite of today’s look for horses.
