The site is still being developed, but the web address is: www.CerescoNE.com. Once it is completed, residents will be able to download various permits and forms, search the city code book, read newsletters, view the community calendar and much more. ATTENTION BUSINESSES! There will be a business directory to highlight community businesses. You are invited to share your business logo, contact information and a brief summary of your business for use on the website. We would also be interested in any Ceresco photographs you might have, especially current ones showing people enjoying life in Ceresco-parade, Ceresco Days, Easter Egg Hunt, playground, etc. You may send or bring this information to City Hall. Thank you to Tim Hartshorn for his work on the web site. ************************************************************************ TRIBUTE TO SAUNDERS COUNTY VETERANS A memorial dedicated to the men and women who have served our country during war and peacetime is being planned for the northeast corner of the Saunders County Courthouse grounds. This will be a beautiful place to pay tribute to all our veterans. Funds are being raised from the 15 veteran organizations in Saunders County and the general public. There are numerous ways you can contribute from buying pavers, sponsoring markers, benches, etc. in addition to five different donor levels. All donations are tax deductible and any size donation is welcome and greatly appreciated. Donations can be mailed to the Wahoo Chamber of Commerce Attention: Veterans Memorial PO Box 154 Wahoo, NE 68066. Local contacts for any questions you may have can be directed to Arnold Eivins 402-665-3957 or Lynn Maxson 402-665-6201. You can learn more and follow this project at www.facebook.com/saunderscountyveteransmemorial. NEW RECODIFIED MUNICIPAL CODE BOOK IN EFFECT…NEW RULE!! After more than 18 months of review and discussion, the re-codified Municipal Code Book has been finally approved. This means the code book is up to date with adopted ordinances, etc. As mentioned in an earlier newsletter, one new change is a code you could call the pooper scooper ordinance. This ordinance requires people to clean up excrement after their pets when they are off their own property. This includes the park, playgrounds, ditches, roadways, sidewalks, other’s yards etc. This means any animal you are in control of, whether you are walking someone else’s dog, etc. This has been a big issue at the City Park, children should not have to dodge doggie doo while playing ball or enjoying a day at the park. This ordinance is enforceable and there is a fine, please do your part to keep Ceresco clean and clean up after your pets! Allowing dogs to run without a leash has never been legal, unless they are in your own fenced in yard. ************************************************************************ DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME BEGINS 2 AM March 9- Check/change your smoke detector batteries! ************************************************************************ 2014 PET TAGS ARE AVAILABLE! The new pet tags are available at the city office, so you can get yours done early before the May deadline! Please remember all dogs and cats over the age of 6 months are required to be licensed. Proof of current rabies vaccination is required. There is also a limit of 3 dogs and 3 cats over the age of six months per residence. A pet is considered to be yours if it is owned, harbored, maintained, or otherwise kept on your property for a period of ten days; you are then responsible for compliance with city ordinances regarding licensing. Failure to license your pets can result in a $25.00 fine per animal. ************************************************************************ SAVE THE DATE FOR THE CERESCO EASTER EGG HUNT! The Evangelical Covenant Church will be sponsoring the annual Easter Egg Hunt Sunday, April 13.
