SciStream™ enables the

instrument data and
metadata files into the
TIBCO Spotfire® Analytics and Visualization Platform. This allows scientists
to quickly import various instrument data files from plate readers, high
content screening readers, flow cytometers (*.fcs files) and quantitative
pathology imaging systems along with their corresponding metadata or
plate layouts. SciStream™ accommodates a variety of data and file formats
in high volume, empowering scientists to gain novel insights during assay
development, as well during large screening campaigns.
Attributes and Capabilities
SciStream™ enables the import, aggregation,
and arrangement of raw instrument data and
metadata files into the TIBCO Spotfire® Analytics
and Visualization Platform.
•Allows creation, editing and saving of
file formats
•Includes an interactive preview of the data
file using color coding and visual cues to
highlight the various headers, footers, columns,
and data block areas defined in the file format
layout settings
•Includes three levels of delimiter to appropriately
separate text (primary, secondary, and filename)
•Extracts the required metadata and information
from header and footer rows, columns or cells
directly into columns in TIBCO Spotfire®
•Includes support for Excel and other text files
with plate layout information (well content,
compound information, dilution scheme, etc.)
•Supports batch import of multiple data files into
a single table in TIBCO Spotfire®

Specific Scientific Applications
•Flow cytometers
■Supports FCS 3.0 and 3.1 data files
•Imports a wide variety of instrument data files directly into
TIBCO Spotfire®:
■Automated compensation correction using embedded
spillover table
■Plate readers (e.g. EnVision, EnSpire, and more)
■High Content Screening readers and software
(e.g. Operetta, Opera, Columbus, and more)
■Extract keyword values and other metadata (e.g. well location,
date, sample name, etc.) from FCS file header section and
file name
■Flow cytometer FCS files (Flow Cytometry Standard
3.0 and 3.1)
•PerkinElmer’s Quantitative Pathology Imaging Systems
(Mantra/Vectra/inForm)
■Quantitative Pathology Imaging Systems

■Detects and imports inForm output files (cell level data).
All corresponding images or fields are automatically
imported and displayed in TIBCO Spotfire® and overlaid
with cell markings (masks) representing all the cells
identified during image analysis
■Other instruments and software that produce text-based files
(tissue scanners, inForm software, EZReader, etc.)
■Non-PerkinElmer platforms are supported
■For virtually any plate reader, scanner or HCS reader
■Filtering or marking on any TIBCO Spotfire® visualization
(scatter plots, bar charts, histograms, etc.) will highlight
or display the corresponding cell markings/masks on the
corresponding image(s)
■Single and multiple readout value for each well
•Supports a vast variety of data formats and configurations of
generic data import:
■Multiple plates and multiple time points in a single
file (kinetic data – label-free, calcium flux, etc.)

Supports other object/cell level images and data when
X and Y coordinates are available (HCS and other
imaging applications)
