Officer’s Reports
Hello Bass People
The summer time have came and went by so fast and it feels like that there isnt enough bass
President
torumanments this year. However, we have planned a series of bass tournaments, mostly at
Clear Lake in preparation for upcoming NBAD tournamen which is next summer. I wanted to say thanks to all
sponsors who have contributed one way or other. We hve several committee meetings to discuss various aspects of
the tournament. CalBass is joining with CDBC to help out with NBAD Jr, known as kid derby and hope to attract kids
to learn more about bassing. If you re wondering, our funds is well over the $13,000 mark now and still growing. Deaf
nation have indicated to me that they are coming out to document the event, not only because the lake is considered
“Bass Captial of the West”, but to witness the national tournament for the first time in western USA.
I have seen and talked with many good people, mostly from California as well as ll over the country, who are looking
forward to the historical event. I would love to see all of you at upcoming tournaments, even its a short or long drive. I
have to drive 9 hours from my home in Orange County up to Clear Lake with my boat in tow, but the expereince is
worth it. Make sure to look out for new dates for 2008 in our web site and visit the photo galleries from past
tournaments.
Stay in touch.
Still bassin’ hard,
Scott Hostetler

I look forward to seeing you all and fish with you all in the the upcoming lakes. Don't forget the key to winning the

ake Oroville, located 75 miles north of Sacramento in the Sierra Nevada
foothills of Northern California, boasts of 167 miles of forested shoreline and
offers more recreational variety than any other lake or reservoir in California.
where Sacramento Valley Angler & Camping Club of the Deaf hosted 4th Annual
Deaf Bass Tournament at Oroville Lake’s beautiful California state park’s
Bidwell Canyon Campground & big marina last May 18-20, 2007. The
weather was real HOT same as last year. But Oroville Lake’s water level
dropped a bitter 10 foot than last year which almost full pool. There werent
much water run in creek in each cove this year.
Troy Davenport, Jr . said that the tournament at Oroville Lake on
May 18 - 20 was a successful one, despite that we had 9 teams on
Friday and 20 anglers on Saturday and Sunday. On Friday and
Saturday everyone got their limits! On Sunday we were 9 basses short
from full limit-out! We really enjoyed the excellent fishing due to no slot
restriction. Many of us had more than 75 basses a day! Everything was
so wonderful, and we do hope to see more people next year at
President, Scott Hostetler caught both heavy

caught limits of bass for 3 days!! Finally it showed more other
species of largemouth and smallmouth mixed with spotted. But
spotted still was the most caught bass.
Finally! our CDBC’s president, Scott Hostetler won for the First

ake Ouachita, located in the Ouachita National Forrest of more than 1.6 million acres near the resort city of Hot
Springs, Arkansas and is one of the cleanest lakes in the country. Arkansas's largest lake, it has 66,324 total
acres of land and water. 20,000 forested acres around the lake are open for hunting. With Over 200 islands you
can find your own private camping space and beach. The lake was created by building the Blakely Mountain Dam on
the Ouachita River with over 40,000 acres of water,Lake Ouachita averages 50 feet deep. The deepest area touching

Glenn Giudice said that Otto and he have been fishing hard on all four days (Thursday to Sunday) and had blast
time catching average 50+ bass per day all day long. We fished all over at northwest part of the lake from Lake
Berryessa Marina Resort all the way up to Putah Creek catching almost at every cove or point. They have been using
mostly Roboworm on all kinds of colors as long as the bass
keep biting all day long. It was funny as Otto would sudden
be on hot streak catching 4 or 5 bass in row then it stopped
biting then Glenn got on hot streak 4 or 5 in row as it goes
on back and forth all day long. On Saturday around 9 am at

Bass Joke
I got a $50,000 fantastic bass boat and $10,000
in tackles. The bass has a brain about the size of
a pea. But every time I go out to bass fishing. I
can hear or see 'em laughing. Then they go and
hide.

saw two fisted sized mouth gapping wide open on the surface.
It was estimated the bass is in between 8 to 10 lbs as it was
largest bass we both ever seen and twice the size of Otto's lunker bass. He took my time and did everything right as
the bass was about two feet away to the boat but Otto was on other side of me and prevented him from be able to net
the bass as my rod was in the way toward to him as he tried to drag the bass toward him but bass tried to jump out of
the water again but he kept her down in the water then all sudden the darn darn defective line snapped. OUCHEE !!!!!!!
We were so depressed and it was hard to fish rest of the day but we keep positive and support each other to keep
going till Otto caught his beautiful almost five pounder bass that brightens our day. After further inspection and found
out the trilene fishing line. Glenn was using was defective and snapped very easy as he had all the reels re-spool with
new line a week before the tournament. Otto loaned his rod to me and had no problem with it rest of the day. Trilene is
fired and switched to P-line from on smile.
I wanted to thank the Lake Berryessa Committee for the wonderful job hosting the Bass Tournament! Thank You,
Glenn Giudice
