TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1 - Missoula Livestock Exchange acts only as an agent. Any guarantees, written or implied,
are between the buyer and seller. All guarantees announced from the auction block will
be under the authorization of the seller not Missoula Livestock.
2 - Missoula Livestock and its representatives are not responsible for incorrect or misprinted
information. Announcements made from the auction block will take precedence over any
printed material.
3 - All persons attending the sale do so at their own risk. Neither management nor any
people connected with Missoula Livestock Exchange will assume any liability, legal or
otherwise, for accidents to person or property, before during or after the sale.
4 - Most horses will have a current, negative, Coggins test. Horses going out of state will
need a Health Certificate and any other requirements of that state. This will be at the
buyers expense. There will be a veterinarian available sale day to write these and do a
Coggins test if needed. Horses going out of State that do not have a Coggins test will not
be allowed to be loaded until the Vet has received the test back.
5 - Preview of the horses will be Friday evening and Saturday AM. All horses will be halter
broke.
6 - All buyers MUST register for a bid number. These can be obtained at the sale office. The
highest bidder will be the buyer and if a dispute arises between two or more bidders,
the horse in dispute shall immediately be put up again for bids. If there is no advance
the horse shall go to the person from whom the auctioneer recognized the last bid. The
auctioneer will decline any bid made by parties who have defaulted in former purchases
or by persons, who, in his judgement, are not responsible bidders. The consignor shall
have the right to pass out or no sale his/her horse. All consignors who no sale their
horse MUST do so prior to the animal leaving the sales ring.
7 - Payment of horses to be made by cash, or check immediately after sale.
8 - Upon purchase, registration papers will be given to those who pay with cash. Persons
paying by check will be sent their papers within 30 days.
9 - All papers will be in order by sale day, unless announced from the auction block. Any
fees associated with the transfer of the papers to the new owner will be at the BUYERS
expense.
10 - Broodmares sold as in foal are not guaranteed.
11 - Removal of horses from the Stockyards will not be allowed until all payments have been
settled. A load out card will be given to the buyers with all papers required. This card
MUST NOT leave the yards.
12 - A representative of Missoula Livestock MUST accompany the removal of any horses from
the stalls to a trailer. PLEASE DO NOT REMOVE LOT # FROM THE HORSES. The load
out card must be signed by the buyer and the representative from Missoula Livestock.
13 - Horses will be allowed to be loaded the day of the sale until 10:00 p.m., and from 8:00
a.m. until 10:00 p.m. the following day.
14 - All sellers checks will be mailed 14 days after the sale, and all matters of new title have
been satisfied.
15 - Phone bids will be accepted sale day. You MUST register with the office prior to the sale
for authorization.
16 - All horses will go through a quick vet check prior to selling. Any visible irregularities
found by the vet will be announced from the auction block. This vet check in no way
constitutes a soundness guarantee, but is merely for visible flaws.

lot in the fall to bring the cows out of the mountain
pastures. She has a lot of energy and can go all
day. I raised two foals out of her, and one was a high selling yearling. She is cow horse

“Spud” is a kind and gentle gelding with straight legs, good
feet, and a cute head. He has been on several trail rides,
the longest being 25 miles in the Bitterroot Mountains last
summer. Spud is a really nice trail horse and is fun to ride.
He will cross bogs, rivers, and other obstacles without a problem. He has been used
on the ranch this spring for calving chores, including pairing out and trailing cattle. He
lopes nice circles in the arena, knows his leads and backs up well. He is good to catch,
shoe, load, tie, and has been hobbled. Spud is selling grade, but can be registered.
