Volunteers Needed The DL Chamber is busy with fundraisers, community events and member activities. We need your help to make it all happen! Here are a few upcoming opportunities: Ambassadors: The DL Chamber Ambassadors meet the 1st Wed. of each month to visit new businesses, meet new owners and congratulate our members on business improvements. PLUS they help with ribbon cuttings and groundbreaking ceremonies. We would like to add a few more team members! Arts & Crafts in Park: On Sunday, July 24, we will host this 38th Annual fundraiser! We are looking for volunteers to assist throughout the day. From set-up and tear-down to information booth, help is needed to make this a fun event! If you would like volunteer for a 2-hour shift let us know! WE Fest Shuttle & Information Booth: August 4-6 we need approximately 50 volunteers to help us sell tickets for the shuttle bus (ticket booths at Fairgrounds and Downtown DL) OR work the information/lost & found booth in the concert bowl. Volunteers can earn free tickets to WE Fest or Gift Cards to Cinemagic Theatres! (Volunteers must be responsible adults able to work with the public and money.) Crazy Daze, Light Up the Lakes and more: The DL Chamber’s Promotions & Events Committee (P & E) is looking to add more volunteers to assist with their many events! Help with planning through out the year, or volunteer a few hours at your favorite event… all are welcome! Volunteering is a great way to get your business and your staff connected to the community. Boat Races and Show The second annual Detroit Lakes Antique and Classic Boat Show will be held Saturday, June 18 from noon-4 pm in the parking lot by the Holiday Inn. If you’d like to treat Dad on Father’s Day or are looking for something free and fun for the family, the powerboat races will be underway at the same time. This year’s tenth annual event is named in honor of Jerry Simison, who lived in Detroit Lakes and, with his crew, earned more than 30 national and world powerboat racing championships.
