The 2006 Global Hedge Fund Investment Summit will cover some of the most pressing issues facing institutions and other investors that are either allocating to hedge funds already or are considering making initial allocations. The program will also address topics of interest to providers of excelling alternative investments to the institutional and high net-worthcentered marketplaces. Key features of the Global Hedge Fund Investment Summit will include a keynote address presented by the head of one of the oldest institutional investors in hedge funds, an overview of the impact of hedge funds on the economy of the U.S. delivered by the chief economic strategist of one of the world’s largest absolute return managers, and an exclusive speech by a state treasurer whose office is now considering allocating to hedge funds for the very first time. Beyond the stimulating addresses from these leading industry participants, we will cover such wide-ranging topics as the future of the fund of hedge funds and what fund-of-funds must to do continue to appeal to investors, the evolution of the very concept of the ‘hedge fund’ to encompass novel structures and strategies, and how fund managers can best achieve consistent positive returns in strategies such as commodities, energy, FX, and emerging markets. In achieving this task we are joined by key decision makers representing many of the leading asset managers in North America, UK, and the rest of the European Union. Some of these include Bradford Williams, of Goldman Sachs Asset Management’s hedge fund division, Charles Jacklin, president of Mellon Capital Management, Thomas Maier, head of alternatives at Baring Asset Management and Andrew Sterge, the former CEO of the Cooper-Neff Group. The Global Hedge Fund Investment Summit aims to provide delegates with a comprehensive picture of where the hedge fund industry stands at present, and to look forward to products, strategies, and planning for the future. All of our speakers are chosen for their expertise and familiarity with the topics they are speaking on, and with the alternative investment industry as a whole. As well as participating in the discussions and other components of the formal conference program, we encourage you to make use of the various networking opportunities on offer. The receptions, lunches, and coffee breaks, and the conference setting in the delightful surrounds of Bermuda’s only luxury urban resort hotel, will help foster greater understanding between fund managers, investors, and other members of the worldwide hedge fund community.
