It's located in Chapter 17 of Acts, verses 27 and 28. That they should seek the Lord If haply they might feel after Him and find Him, though he be not far from every one of us; for in Him we live and move and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said for we are also His offspring A I N T D Y N E The Contents of The Heart Proverbs 23:7 tells us that, “As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.” Well, young people, that’s an interesting concept. Sounds like it doesn’t really matter what the outside looks like, huh? But think about this; you go shopping, and pick up a can that has a label indicating that the contents on that can are peaches; when you get home and open the can, what do you expect to find, green beans? Of course not; you expect to see some delicious peaches. No matter the size, shape, color, or condition of the can, if the label says peaches, that’s what we expect to find inside., unless the can has been mislabeled. So you see, young people, the internal contents of our heart are identified by the external life we live. So, while it is important for you to know what’s on the inside, it is also very important that both the inside and the outside reflect the same product. So, what’s in your heart? Page 6 The Editor Lower Light Evangelist “Give and it Shall Be Given” Beauty For Ashes In the 2013 winter edition of the LLE, The Lord prompted me to place a small article on the matter of “giving”, and I suggested the possibility of giving to the publishing of the LLE. I have been delighted with the positive results of this suggestion. These are just a few of the responses: From Mississippi comes, “We appreciate being able to receive the LLE; it is always a blessing to read! Enclosed is a check for $25 to help keep it coming our way.” From Monroe, MI, a reader writes, “Thank you for continuing to send the LLE! It’s always good to get an update on activities and other articles. I hope my small offering of $20 helps with expenses.” From Wisconsin a reader writes, “The Lower Light paper arrived today, and I read your good suggestion. I will send my $10 right away.” Another Michigan subscriber writes, I feel God is urging me to give $400 toward the publishing of the Lower Light Evangelist. Over the many years I have been receiving the LLE, I have so enjoyed the articles. Please put me on your prayer list. I do so want to serve the Lord.” It is exciting to this editor, as I’m sure it is to you as well, to hear such encouraging notes from our readers and our fellow Christians. Especially in the things of God It is often the small things that count. Kittie L. Suffield said it so well when she wrote, “Little is much if God is in it! Labor not for wealth or fame. There's a crown—and you can win it, If you go in Jesus' name.” About 10:30 p.m. on February 1st, fire destroyed the Petersburg Parsonage garage, a vehicle parked in the driveway, and caused thousands of dollars damage to the home, especially the kitchen and upper bedroom. The pastor reports, “Our first act was to evacuate. We congregated in the church next door and counted heads. Neighbors were soon there, bringing blankets, coats and shoes. The Red Cross was great at finding us a place to stay, for which we thank God. We thank God for family and friends who helped us get to a motel and stayed with us until everybody was settled in, sometime after 5 a.m. Fire inspectors later determined the cause of the fire to be faulty wiring in a freezer in the garage. Four days later we were able to move into the conference learning center, where we set up some temporary walls for bedrooms. It’s not home but it’s better than living in a motel room. Now we anxiously await the completion of reconstruction so we can move back home. Out of the ashes and rubble we began to see some beauty like the prophet talks about in Isaiah 61:3, of exchanging ashes for beauty. I'm so glad I gave Jesus the rags of my life many years ago. I traded and got beauty for ashes, and just like the parsonage, we had to lose some things to win. Subscription Notice For a new subscription, please fill out this form and send it to the Editor.
