WELCOME
EVENING ACTIVITIES
3 Fabulous Raffles!
W
e are thrilled that you are here to support and celebrate Chief
Sealth International High School! Our goal this evening is to raise
substantial funds to support all students. We are happy to continue our
new tradition of joining forces for a unified fundraising strategy that will
help fund the many important programs and activities at Sealth that
need our monetary support.
We are very grateful for everyone who made this night happen: our
generous sponsors and donors, Chief Sealth staff (especially Principal
Kinsey and Sam Reed), dedicated event volunteers, all of you, and
especially Auction Co-Chairs Beth Britt, Amy Daly-Donovan, and
Liz Strongman. Have fun, enjoy the evening, and thank you again for
your support and generosity. Let’s join together and show our Seahawk
Spirit!!
With best regards,
Ted Reed - President, Chief Sealth PTSA

A $20 ticket buys you a chance to win your choice of:
* Night out in the Emerald City An overnight stay, including breakfast, at the
Courtyard Pioneer Square, two tickets to Comedy Underground, and $50 to sip
and nosh at Purple Wine Bar.
* Holiday Shopping Extravaganza Get all your holiday shopping done in
one fell swoop with a $400 gift certificate to Westfield Southcenter Mall. Good
for purchases at any store! Relax afterwards with 4 tickets to Southcenter AMC
Theatres.
* Freshly Prepared Salmon Dinner Dinner for six prepared with the freshest of
ingredients, with salmon caught by the donor, including three bottles of wine.
Heads or Tails
Pay $20 to participate in the fun and possibly lucrative game of Heads or Tails! You
can “pay to play” during the raffle ticket sales, and the auctioneer will give you a
last chance to play just before the game sometime during the Live Auction.
Participants stand up and choose to put their hands on their head or their tail!
The auctioneer then flips a coin and announces heads or tails. Those with their
hands on the “winning end” stay standing, the others sit down until only one is
left. The last player standing wins half the pot!
Wheel of Fortune
Take a chance and spin the wheel… for $15, try your luck for a prize! Your spin
indicates how many raffle tickets you receive, up to 4! Every ten minutes we
will announce a winner who can select from an array of fun prizes including
restaurant gift certificates, beer gift basket, iPod speakers, and more! We’ll
package up your winnings to take home at the end of the evening. Play as
often as you’d like!
EVENING ACTIVITIES
Wine Grab
This is like a grab bag for adults. For $25 select from a variety of “mystery”
bottles of red, white, and sparkling wine. Each bottle is valued at a price of at
least $15, and there are several very special bottles valued at $40 or more. See
if you can find the Caymus Vineyards Cab, valued at $93! Buy as many bottles as
you’d like. We’ll package it up for you to take home at the end of the evening.
Photo Op with Sammy Seahawk!
Show your Seahawk Pride! For only $5 have your picture snapped with Sammy
Seahawk... have fun and get creative (props optional!). A student photographer
will take your photo and the printed 5x7 copy will be available a little later in
the evening—don’t forget to come pick it up before you leave. Group shots
welcome!
Dessert Dash
Scrumptious, mouth-watering desserts by Chief Sealth bakers will be on
display in the Live Auction hall prior to bidding. Once seated for dinner, we
invite you to include a bid in the envelope on your table – you can use cash,
check, or your bid number. The top donating table receives first choice for
dessert. The remaining desserts are selected in descending order until all
desserts are selected! All proceeds from the Dessert Dash go to the Class of
2013 to help fund Grad Night and other special events for our seniors!
Fill Up Your Passport and Win Spirit Gear!
As you enjoy the various activities tonight, ask for your “passport” to be
stamped or signed by a friendly volunteer. Drop it off on your way out - we’ll
draw two lucky winners who will receive a high quality CSIHS embroidered
sweatshirt! We’ll deliver your size preference to you next week.
RAISE THE PADDLE FOR CSIHS STUDENTS
Research shows that students who participate in a variety of programs at school
have higher GPAs, better attendance, lower dropout rates and fewer discipline
problems. Through these enriching programs and experiences, students learn
teamwork, self-discipline, time management, sportsmanship, poise, tolerance,
cooperation, tolerance, and patience. And that’s just to name a few!
We also want to support our teachers and staff by providing the tools,
equipment, and resources they need to do their best work, too. Things like
calculators, classroom materials, and a little bit of love and appreciation make a
huge difference!
Our goal tonight is to raise $15,000 through “Raise the Paddle” to help make all
of this happen. Last year, the money raised at the auction helped to fund:
PTSA
• Autism and Special Ed field trips and
communication devices
• Calculators for science and math
classrooms
• Clothing Bank and student support
items (such as backpacks, personal
hygiene and school supplies)
• College Readiness Workshops for
students and parents!
• Chief Sealth Spring Musical
• Project Care camping experience
• Books for the library and 9th grade LA
and IB programs
• Writers in the Schools program
• Multi-Cultural Night
• World Water Week
• Student of the Month and Staff
Appreciation
Activities & Athletics
• “C-teams” in the sports where so
many kids want to play, including
transportation, referees and equipment.
The District provides no support to
keep these teams alive.
• New uniforms for boys soccer (in past
years, for girls soccer, cross-country,
wrestling, & football)
• “Fan-buses” for students to cheer on
classmates at state basketball and boys
soccer games
• Grad Night, the safe-and-sober postgraduation activity for our seniors. Over
180 students participated in the first 2
years!
Denny-Sealth Performing Arts
• Sealth Marching Band uniform cleaning
• 2012 Sealth Jazz Band I trip to New
Orleans Heritage Festival
• 2012 Jazz Band, Band, Choir, and
Orchestra trips to New Orleans Heritage
Festival and Portland Rose Festival
• 2012 Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival
participation
• Rhythm Section Clinics with nationally
renowned bass player Christian Fabian
• Chief Sealth Spring Musical
AUCTION INFORMATION
To bid on silent auction items, write your bidder number next to one of the
amounts on the prepared bit sheet for each item. To be valid, a silent auction
bid amount must be one of the increments specified on the bid sheet.
If you want to guarantee that you will “win” the item, bid the guaranteed
amount on the bid sheet and that item is yours!
A signature, written bid number, or verbal bid constitutes a legal contract
to buy. All sales are final and must be paid in full; there are no exchanges or
refunds.
All items are sold “as-is”. Chief Sealth PTSA will not be responsible for the
correctness of the description or the condition of the property.
All items must be removed from the hall by the winning bidders on the
evening of the auction; Chief Sealth PTSA is not responsible for items not
collected.
If you arranged for Express Checkout upon check-in, there is no need to stop
by the cashier on the way out. Simply gather up all the items you won; we’ll do
the math and send you a final statement in a few days.
Final payment can be made by cash, check or Visa/MasterCard. Make checks
payable to Chief Sealth PTSA.
Have fun and drive home safely!
Look for the Passport to Excellence logo on
