to your hard work, GMC put up significant year-over-year sales gains, Sierra delivered its best January in 5 years,
and Terrain had its best January ever; and this month we have no plans to miss a sale.
Without question, Sierra is the backbone of GMC and we are going to make the 2014 GMC Sierra our best launch
ever. To launch the truck that is designed and engineered like no other, we have to accelerate the sell down of
your current Sierra.

PRO GRADE PROTECTION LAUNCH TV
To support Pro Grade Protection, GMC is launching a new Sierra TV spot called “Chains.”
The idea behind “Chains” is that GMC is so confident in Sierra, that we will subject the truck to extreme and
punishing ordeals and it will be unaffected due to how well-engineered it is.
The core of the spot calls out the 5-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty, 3-year/36,000-mile bumperto-bumper warranty, and for the first time, 24 months of maintenance. When your truck’s built to a higher
standard, and has the coverage to stay that way, that’s professional grade.
You will see this spot, along with the latest Terrain work, “Capable,” as part of GMC’s “Always On” media investment on
programming such as: Castle, The Mentalist, Big Bang Theory, Cougar Town, and stations such as CNBC, Discovery,
FX, The History Channel, and CNN.

Participation in the Pro Grade Protection program is voluntary at the option
of the dealer. Submission of a claim for reimbursement constitutes dealer’s

acknowledgement form. This form is a great way to merchandise
all the amenities Pro Grade Protection has to offer with the
customer and it must be signed at the time of delivery and
kept in the deal jacket.

TIME PERIOD
GMC Pro Grade Protection Program applies to model year 2013 eligible new GMC Sierra 1500 vehicles sold and delivered
on or after February 1 through February 28, 2013.
ELIGIBLE 2013 MODELS
Pro Grade Protection Program will be provided on the retail sale or lease of new 2013 GMC Sierra 1500 light duty full size
pick-up trucks only.
TRANSFER OF COVERAGE
GMC Pro Grade Protection Program is transferrable to subsequent owners and remains in effect for 2 years or 24,000 miles,
whichever expires first. Refer to the applicable Warranty Section within Investigate Vehicle History (IVH) in the Global Warranty
Management (GWM) system or the Customer & Vehicle Dashboard tab in Service Workbench to determine coverage eligibility.
REIMBURSEMENT
PARTICIPATION IN SERVICE UNDER THE PROGRAM IS VOLUNTARY AT THE OPTION OF THE DEALER. SUBMISSION OF
A CLAIM FOR REIMBURSEMENT CONSTITUTES DEALER’S AGREEMENT TO THE RATES, TERMS AND CONDITIONS
DESCRIBED IN THIS DOCUMENT. ONCE A DEALER HAS OPTED INTO THE PROGRAM IN ANY MANNER, DEALER
AGREES TO SERVICE ALL ELIGIBLE VEHICLES DETAILED IN THE PROGRAM, THERE IS NO SUBSEQUENT OPT OUT.
• The dealer will identify and confirm the GMC Pro Grade Protection Program associated with 2013 GMC Sierra 1500 LD
Full Size Pick-Up trucks within IVH.
• Services will only be reimbursed in strict accordance with the rules of the program.
• Reimbursements will not be considered for maintenance work performed at a non GM Dealer, Fleet, or independent
service facility.
• Dealer fees or charges relating to shop supplies, materials, waste disposal fees, environmental or taxes are not
reimbursable to the dealer under this program and may not be charged to the customer.
• Dealers will submit GMC Pro Grade Protection Program claims for reimbursement through the Global Warranty Management (GWM) claim processing system. Dealers must use the dedicated labor operation code provided in this document.
• Continuation of the Pro Grade Protection Program will be at the sole discretion of GM. If GM extends the duration
beyond February 28, 2013, an opt-out process will be made available to all dealers.

DMS INSTRUCTIONS FOR TRACKING CUSTOMER RETENTION METRICS
• Enter the reimbursable cost as “W” (Warranty Pay) line item in your DMS.
• Enter any additional costs to the Dealership beyond the claim amount as “I” (Internal) in your DMS (using your specific
Dealership Labor Op code that identifies the service performed).
METHOD OF PAYMENT
Electronic Funds Transfer via the normal dealer open account, with credits identified on the Transaction Summary of
the Global Warranty Management System.
GENERAL POLICY GUIDELINES
•T
his program is not to be combined with any other GM service offer, e.g. Dealer cannot submit a labor operation code for
reimbursement under this program and another program that would pay the dealer additional money for the same services.
• Dealer will inform the customer that the program is not a “Pre-paid Maintenance Plan” and that the customer is not
being charged separately for the program.
• Dealer must read and understand the terms of any documents referenced within these program guidelines.
• General Motors reserves the right to audit Dealer records and disqualify any amounts paid which do not qualify under
the Program Guidelines. General Motors will reverse transaction payment to the Dealer for any amounts paid on
ineligible units or services.
• F inal decisions on all matters relating to the interpretation of any rule or aspect of this program rest solely with
General Motors.

What is the GMC Sierra Pro Grade Protection Program?
The GMC Pro Grade Protection Program is a new program that is exclusive to 2013 Sierra 1500 Light Duty trucks that are
either purchased or leased with a retail delivery date on or after February 1, 2013 through February 28, 2013. The program
includes a 5-year/100,000-mile powertrain limited warranty,* a 3-year/36,000-mile limited bumper-to-bumper warranty*
and a 2-year/24,000-mile maintenance program* which includes a maximum of four service events consisting of oil
and filter change, tire rotation and a 27 multi-point vehicle inspection.
*Whichever comes first.
What is the program time frame?
Pro Grade Protection takes effect for customers who purchase or lease a 2013 GMC Sierra 1500 Light Duty, and take
retail delivery beginning on February 1, 2013 through February 28, 2013.
How long is the Pro Grade Protection maintenance service good for?
2 years or 24,000 miles, whichever comes first, for up to a maximum of four total service events.
Do GM employees qualify?
Yes, GM employee sales as well as most other discounted sales (i.e. GM supplier, credit union, etc.) qualify for this program.

All 2013 GMC Sierra 1500 LD’s purchased or leased with a retail delivery date on or after February 1, 2013 through
February 28, 2013. (Excludes 2500 and 3500).
If a dealer is selling a 2013 GMC Sierra that has been in their Courtesy Transportation program, can the vehicle still
qualify for Pro Grade Protection?
Yes, but the remaining term of the coverage will be shortened for the customer. As with warranty, the time and mileage clock
will start on the date that the vehicle is placed into DRAC service. The retail customer will have only the balance of the 2-year/
24,000-mile maintenance coverage, whichever comes first, once the vehicle is taken out of Courtesy Transportation service.
Is the cabin air filter included in the maintenance package?
No. The Pro Grade Protection includes oil changes (oil and oil filter) and tire rotations.
Does Pro Grade Protection cover excessive wear?
No. It does not.
Am I required to use GM Parts and GM Oil?
Yes. Participating dealers must purchase and use only Genuine GM Parts and Oil from GM or an authorized GM
ACDelco Distributor.
Does the coverage go with the customer or with the vehicle?
Coverage follows the vehicle, not the owner. It is fully transferrable.
What if the customer wants synthetic oil and their vehicle only requires ACDelco dexos1 oil?
GM will only reimburse the dealership for the recommended oil specified in the owner’s manual. Dexos1 is the required oil
for all GM vehicles 2011 and newer.
How often can a customer get their oil changed?
Oil change and tire rotation service are to be performed in accordance with the manufacture’s recommended maintenance
schedule as detailed in the Owner’s Manual. The customer can get a maximum of four service events under the program.
What if a customer wants to change their oil every 3 months or 3,000 miles?
The Engine Oil Life System is a proven technology that can reduce the overall cost of ownership. The customer will still
have the option to follow their desired frequency, however we will only reimburse for oil changes in accordance with the
Engine Oil Life System or maximum of (4) services during the 2-year/24,000-mile period.
How many oil changes and tire rotations are customers allowed?
The customer is allowed up to (4) oil changes in accordance with the Engine Oil Life System during the Pro Grade
Protection 2-year/24,000-mile maintenance program.

Customers are encouraged to follow the instructions in their Owners’ manual pertaining to service interval and when the
OLM system indicates it is time to change oil. That is when the customer should schedule service. While there is no specific
percentage at which the oil change should occur, we ask that dealers consult with customers on the benefits of the oil Life
Monitor and the situation which presents itself at time of write-up, for the convenience of the customer. We would expect
a majority of the Oil Changes/Tire Rotations to take place between 6,000–7,000 miles, in conjunction with the OLM.
Are all GMC dealers required to participate in the GMC Pro Grade Protection program?
No. Dealer participation is optional and will require an “opt-in” enrollment. As you know, maintenance plays an important
role in customer retention, which will ultimately, lead to more customer pay opportunities, lower cost of ownership, and
increased customer satisfaction, which will likely lead to another GMC purchase or lease, from your dealership.
Customers who purchase or lease a 2013 GMC Sierra 1500 from a PARTICIPATING dealer, will need to sign a Customer
Acknowledgement form. Customers who purchase or lease a 2013 GMC Sierra 1500 from a NON-PARTICIPATING
dealer, will need to sign a CUSTOMER DISCLOSURE form, explaining that they will need to locate a participating dealer
to receive their 2 years/24,000 Pro Grade Maintenance. The dealer will also need to sign the disclosure form. Copies of
these forms will need to remain in the deal jacket.
What if I decide I want to opt-out after participating in the program for a certain amount of time?
Submission of a claim for reimbursement constitutes dealer’s agreement to the rates, terms and conditions of the Pro
Grade Protection Program. Once a dealer has opted into the program in any manner, dealer agrees to service all eligible
vehicles delivered under the program. There will be no subsequent opportunity to opt out for the duration of the program.
Continuation of the Pro Grade Protection Program will be at the sole discretion of GM. If GM extends the duration beyond
February 28, 2013, an opt-out process will be made available to all dealers.
Does the customer have to receive service from the selling dealer?
No. The customer can go to any participating GMC dealership to receive Pro Grade Protection coverage.
How do I sign up for the GMC Sierra Pro Grade Protection Program?
There are three ways to ‘Opt-in’ to the Pro Grade Protection Program.
1. Online enrollment—through gmprograminfo.com
2. Paper Enrollment—available through your District Sales Manager and GMPI
3. eSignature Enrollment—available through an email link from your zone team

Do all GM dealers have the ability to process Pro Grade Protection claims?
Only participating GMC dealers can file a Pro Grade Protection claim using the same process as they use to submit a
GM warranty claim through the Global Warranty Management System. Any submission of a claim for reimbursement
constitutes dealer’s opt in to the program along with agreement to the rates, terms and conditions of the Pro Grade
Protection Program. Once a dealer has opted into the program in any manner, dealer agrees to service all eligible
vehicles detailed in the program.
When customers visit the dealer for the required maintenance, do they need to provide any documentation to the
dealer so the dealer knows that they are part of this special program?
No. VIN eligibility will be confirmed in Investigate Vehicle History (IVH), or under the Customer & Vehicle Information tab
in Service Workbench, indicating that the vehicle is eligible for the two year maintenance program.
How does the dealer get reimbursed for the oil changes, tire rotations and multi-point vehicle inspections?

The costs associated with the MPVI are comprehended into the overall program labor rate reimbursement structure. There

you utilize the MPVI form to complete these inspections as part of the GMC Pro Grade Protection Program.
Are shop supplies, materials or other fees/taxes included?
These expenses are considered to be part of the dealer’s overall fixed operation expense, and therefore not reimbursable under this program.

Yes. All dealer information, including a complete dealer guide, will be posted to GMPrograminfo.com.
