Historic Sites/Museums
Minoan Palace of Malia The 3rd largest Minoan Palace in Crete, first constructed
circa 1900 BC is in a beautiful setting near the sea just outside the resort town of
Malia. Open Mondays 13-19, Tues-Fri 8-19:30.
Lychnostatis Open-Air Museum Promotes the understanding and awareness of the

Aquaworld, Hersonissos A close look at native reptiles, fish and other marine
creatures found in and around Crete. (Most have been rescued and nursed back to

watch and participate in all the farming activities, watch the production of cheese,

Star Beach Water Park, Hersonissos Offers a wide range of facilities, activities and

Villages of Mohos & Krasi Get away from the bustling beach towns and enjoy the
tranquil, idyllic mountain villages of Mohos (400m above sea level) and Krasi (600 m
high). Enjoy real Cretan hospitality in the one of the taverns or coffeehouses. Take
the old footpath from Stalis to Mohos, aptly called the “Bulgarian Path” since it was
built by Bulgarian Prisoners of WWI.
