Aloha – Fantastic narrow pointed sage green
leaves with large rippled pink blooms. Will
grow to 3 feet. Hybridized in Oregon.
Anah
Kruschke –
Another plant
hybridized by
an Oregon
native. This
upright grower
has loads of
Pink Blooms
with a
Crimson
Blotch. She
will grow to 5
feet.
Anna Rose Whitney simply glows pink blooms. A
heavily structured plant, her stocky foliage
balances perfectly with her size and shape. She
will grow to 5 feet.
Arthur Bedford – Beautiful
light purple trumpet shaped
blooms with a dark purple
blotch. Arthur Bedford will
grow to 7 feet.
Besse Howells – Ruffled Raspberry
blooms makes her a stunning subject.
She will grow to 4 feet with light green
foliage.
Blue Peter – A classic Pacific Northwest
Rhododendron. It was mentioned at the
first American Rhododendron Society
Show in 1944 as being an “eye catcher”.
Blue Peter with grow to be 7 feet.
Bruce Brechtbill – The blooms
start an apple blossom pink and
then fade into a light pink rimmed in
a dark pink. Bruce will grow to
about 4 feet. We used two
specimen size plants as our center
piece display this year.
Capistrano – this yellow
has proven itself to be a
strong, nicely shaped
yellow rhododendron. It
will grow to be 5 feet.
Catawbiense Boursault
This traditional purple
rhododendron has
earned it’s place in time.
It is a strong, fast
growing plant that will
grow to 7 feet and
beyond.
Catawbiense Album – another
very traditional rhododendron
that blooms with a hue of pink
then fades into white with a
yellow blotch. Cat Album will
grow to 7 feet.
Colonel
Coen –
Fantastic
large groups
of dark purple
blooms makes
you want to
salute! The
Colonel will
grow to be
about 5 feet
tall.
Dora Amateis- Thousands of
white blooms cover this small leaf
rhododendron. These will grow
to be about three feet tall and will
grow wide.
English Roseum – This fast growing rhododendron will get to be 8
feet quickly. It has beautiful pink blooms.
Golden Ruby – A late
season bloomer, this 3 foot
plant has a stunning display of
orange and yellow blooms.
Haaga – I
really like the
long shapely
leaves on
Haaga.
Beautiful pink
blooms. Haaga
will grow to 5
feet.
Henry’s Red – The
crimson red bloom
and the up right
growth of Henry’s
Red has made it one
of the most popular
plants on the market
today. It will grow to
four feet.
Honey Butter is a relatively new
introduction and is doing great! The
stunning blooms and the nice green
foliage has made this a rising star rhodie.
It will grow to about 5 feet.
Horizon Monarch is simply an elegant rhododendron with magnificent bloom
and foliage. They grow to be about 7 feet tall.
Hotei – Yes, the
bloom is this
yellow! These
are amazing to
see in bloom.
They will grow to
about to 6 feet in
about 10 years
and 8 feet in
about 12.
Janet Blair is a
sturdy plant that will
grow to about 7 feet.
The pink blooms
with the orange
blotch are amazing.
Lavender Princess –
Beautiful lavender
blooms! I really like the
stems, which are dark
and contrast with the
leaves. It will grow to 4
feet.
Lord Roberts - This
is truly a classic and a
very classy
Rhododendron. The
blooms are a stunning
dark red with a darker
red blotch. The
foliage is very perky.
Displays well with
smaller plants around
it. Lord Roberts will
grow to 5 feet.
Melrose Flash is a plant
which has a bloom with a lot
going on…Pinks, yellows and
green. They are amazing!
They will grow to be five
feet.
Minas Snow – A customer
introduced this plant to me.
It was hybridized in Canada
and is one of the purest
white blooms in the
rhododendron family. It will
grow to be 4 feet tall.
Minnetonka is a very nice low growing rhododendron that will only be about
3 feet tall. Every year I am just stunned by the beauty of their purple and
yellow blooms.
Mrs. Betty Robinson is a bit
controversial in the world of
Rhododendrons. Her
identification has been questioned
in the past as to who-she-really-is.
She is a product of 1920’s
Hybridization. Whoever she is, she
is fantastic. The blooms are
gorgeous, and the deep green,
slightly twisted foliage gives her
great distinction. She will grow to 4
feet.
Nancy Evans is one of my favorites. She starts out with a red/orange bud and
then is covered with beautiful yellow blooms. She will grow to be three feet tall.
Nova Zembla is
a strong grower
and is a great
hedging plant.
Rated as a red, I
refer to it as an
intense pink. It
will grow to be
five feet.
Many times the
blooms on Percy
Wiseman are
compared to apple
blossoms. They are
just 10x more
beautiful! The olive
green foliage
contrasts nicely in
any landscape.
Percy Wiseman will
grow to three feet.
A recent hybrid from Finland,
Pohjola’s Daughter produces unique
ruffled blooms that start pink and then
fade to white with pink rims. She a low
growing plant and will grow to about
two feet tall.
Polarnacht – The deep purple
blooms and the rich green foliage
bring our contrast of colors in the
landscape. Polarnacht will grow to
be three feet.
Purple Gem is a
mound shaped
plant that is just
covered in small
purple blooms. It
will grow to be
about two feet
high and wide.
Ramapo is another
mound shaped plant
that will grow to be
about two feet tall
and wide. It has
delicate foliage and
beautiful purple
blooms. The foliage
is fragrant and smells
of an exotic spice.
Roseum Elegans is a very
traditional rhododendron. It will
grow to be six feet tall and
produces deep rich pink blooms.
Scintillation has a
textured light pink
bloom that is
dabbed with an
orange blotch. The
small green shiny
leaves add to the
attractiveness of this
plant. It will grow to
be four feet.
There is just
something special
about Starbright
Champagne. The
star shaped blooms
the “bursting” red
blotch and the soft
cream base color of
the bloom are just so
unique. It will grow
to be three feet tall.
Taurus always
catches my eye
in bloom.
When I think of
a red
rhododendron
to lead the
parade, it is
always Taurus!
It will grow to
be five feet.
The short oval shaped
leaves, the soft white
blooms that start out a
light pink truly make it’s
name – Unique. It will
grow to five feet.
Unique Marmalade is absolutely stunning! The orange, pink and yellow
blooms contrast the bright green foliage. It will grow to four feet.
Late Additions
Boule de
Neige was an
early hybrid
from
France((1878).
It has a very
nice round
structure and
pure white
blooms. It will
grow to four
feet.
Baden-Baden is so intense in
a compact plant they had to
name it twice! It will grow to be
about two feet tall and about
twice as wide. It has deep
green smaller foliage and
beautiful bell shaped red
blooms.
Jonathan Shaw has
a deep purple bloom
and nice medium
sized foliage. It will
grow to a nice
compact three feet.
Trude
Webster has
stunning pink
towering
blooms and
thick, deep
green foliage.
It will grow to
five feet.
Calsap has quickly
become one of the
most popular whites
with a purple blotch.
It grows a bit more
densely that some
of the others like it.
It will grow to four
feet.
Ken Janek is a low growing
plant that will grow up to three
feet but will spread twice as
wide.
Lee’s Dark Purple
has a light yellow
blotch on a beautiful
cool purple bloom.
It’s foliage is a nice
shade of green. It will
grow to be seven feet.
Mrs. TH Lowinsky
is another stunning
white with a golden
blotch. She will grow
to five feet.
Azurro is a relatively new variety
from Germany. It is a late season
bloomer and will grow to 4 feet.

Horizon Jubilee has
pink bell shaped blooms
that have a kiss of red
and gold. They have
great looking foliage
and will grow to 5 feet.
