Introduced by Itsaul Plants of Georgia, the spring blooms are velvety black with white ‘panda face’ markings. The rich green heart shaped foliage highlighted with silver is the attraction for the rest of the growing season. Deer and rabbit resistance is always a plus! For the shade garden, this later blooming astilbe can not be beat!! With pale pink spikes of blooms in midsummer, this compact variety brings needed color to any shady area. Canna lillies offer a great tropical look to your summer garden. This variety has blood red blooms all summer offset by dark burgundy leaves. At only 15” tall, this intermediate bearded iris is perfect. In addition, this variety is also reblooming. 8-10” ↥↔ 4b-9b 10-12” ZONES A member of the mint family, this compact beebalm is highly mildew resistant. An early flowering variety with lilac-purple blooms from late spring through summer. Great for attracting butterflies, and is rabbit and deer resistant. Very showy as a mass planting in borders and naturalized areas. Paeonia x ‘Bowl of Beauty’ 4-8 A sibling of Balmy™ Lilac, this variety is also compact with tubular rose blooms from late spring to summer. Deadheading both varieties will extend the bloom season. Lyrical™ Blues Salvia ↥↔ 24-28” 30-36” ZONES 3-8 As an old-fashioned Japanese peony, this variety is a stunner. With a combination of fragrance, cherry red outer petals and fluffy yellow center, ‘Bowl Of Beauty’ can not be beat!! Amethyst Falls Wisteria Salvia nemerosa ‘Balyriclu’ (PP# 22919) ↥↔ 22-24” 22-24” ZONES 4-9 The violet spikes of flowers with blue overtones and burgundy calyces make this a standout variety of perennial sage. With clusters of purple blooms in late spring, this variety can be trained on a trellis, arbor or fence for a beautiful display. ZONES 5a For a change of pace, try this variety instead. With fragrant white blooms tinged with lavender in late spring, this variety can also be trained on trellises, arbors, pillars or fences. Korean Rock Fern Paeonia x ‘Scarlet O’Hara’ ↥↔ 30-36” 24-30” ZONES 4-9 This early season peony brings to mind poppies when you look at the blooms. With large, single, crimson red blooms with yellow stamens, it is a very showy addition to the garden border.
