A U G UST • 2015 CSC US Open Tennis Army West Point American University PGA Championship Infinite Energy Center Delaware Junction Festival University of Delaware Des Moines Employee Day ® US Open Tennis Championship USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center NEW YORK CITY, NY - The 2015 US Open Tennis Championships will be held August 31 - September 13 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, New York. The US Open is the fourth and final of the annual Grand Slam tournaments, which also include the Australian Open, the French Open, and Wimbledon. CSC New York City, with assistance from CSC St. Louis, San Bernardino, Kansas City, Northern California, and Jacksonville, will deploy over 1,000 team members during the two weeks of the US Open. CSC will provide services to the United States Tennis Association (USTA), a client since 2009, including magnetometer screening, on-court protection, VIP & player escorts, trained crowd managers, and assistance with vehicle inspections, working under the direction of USTA’s Director of Security, Mike Rodriguez. “It’s such an exciting time of the year when the U.S. Open rolls around. It makes me proud to be a part of Team CSC.” - John Sturges CSC New York City Supervisor Army West Point Partnership Michie Stadium WEST POINT, NY - CSC is pleased to announce its new partnership to provide event services for the Army Athletic Association. CSC New York City will be providing services at venues including Michie Stadium, Christl Arena, Tate Rink, and Shea Stadium, for Army football, basketball, hockey, lacrosse, and other sports, as well as the USMA Cadet graduation. The historic Michie Stadium, home of Army Black Knights football, will celebrate its 92nd season this year. CSC’s services, including ushering, ticket taking, access control, premium services, guest services, and game day campus ambassadors, will be provided under the direction of Boo Corrigan, Director of Athletics, Bob Beretta, Executive Athletic Director, and Brad Brown, Assistant Athletic Director for Operations. “We are excited to bring CSC to West Point. CSC’s Washington D.C. office provides services including crowd management, ticket taking, and event staffing for American University Eagles basketball, concerts and other special events held at Bender Arena, a 300,000-square foot multi-purpose facility in the center of campus. CSC’s services for American University, a client since 1985, are provided under the direction of Jordan Tobin, Assistant Athletics Director / Facilities and Operations. Bender Arena PGA Championship Whistling Straits SHEBOYGAN COUNTY, WI - CSC’s Special Events division, along with the Madison and Milwaukee branch offices, provided services for the 97th PGA Championship at Whistling Straits in Kohler, WI, August 10-16. The PGA Championship, a CSC client since 1991, is the fourth and final major in professional golf. This was the third year that the PGA Championship has been held at Whistling Straits, a 36-hole golf course located on the shoreline of Lake Michigan. CSC’s services for the event included pre-event and post-event security, as well as security at all hospitality venues, ticket taking at gates and clubhouse, screening via hand-held wands, and event staffing throughout the course. CSC’s services for the PGA Championship were provided under the direction of Jason Mengel, Championship Director, and Bo Schlemmer, Operations Manager. Infinite Energy Center Three-Year Contract ATLANTA, GA - CSC is pleased to announce its three-year contract renewal with Infinite Energy Center, formerly Gwinnett Center. CSC Atlanta will continue to provide crowd management services including security, ushering, and ticket taking for Infinite Energy Center, a client since 2012, which includes Infinite Energy Arena, Infinite Energy Forum, and Infinite Energy Theater. The Arena is home to the Gwinnett Gladiators, ECHL hockey team, and will be welcoming the Georgia Swarm, National Lacrosse League team, in January 2016. CSC’s services for the Infinity Energy Center are provided under the direction of Joseph L. Dennis, Jr., General Manager, and Ron Jackson, Assistant General Manager. Infinite Energy Center Delaware Junction Country Music Festival HARRINGTON, DE - CSC’s Washington D.C. and Philadelphia offices provided event services for the Delaware Junction Country Music Festival, August 14-16. Presented by Live Nation, the inaugural three-day festival was held at the Delaware State Fairgrounds in Harrington, DE and featured headliners including Jason Aldean, Toby Keith, and Florida Georgia Line. CSC provided crowd management, access control, and security for the stage and barricades, working under the direction of Jim Hathaway, Security Manager, Delaware Junction Festival, and Nick Kulb, Founder and President, Beckon Entertainment, Inc. Delaware State Fairgrounds University of Delaware Three-Year Contract Delaware Stadium NEWARK, DE - CSC is pleased to announce its three-year contract renewal with the University of Delaware, a client since 2012. CSC Philadelphia will provide services for Delaware Stadium, a 22,000-seat multi-purpose venue, and The Bob Carpenter Center, a 5,000-seat multipurpose arena. Delaware Stadium is home to University of Delaware football as well as men’s and women’s lacrosse. The Bob Carpenter Center hosts University of Delaware men’s and women’s basketball as well as other special events and concerts. CSC Philadelphia provides services including crowd management, security, access control, ticket taking, and ushering under the direction of University of Delaware’s Senior Associate Athletics Director for Facilities, Operations, and Sports Performance, Joe Shirley, and the Associate Athletics Director for Events and Operations, Alicia Greco-Walker. “We are excited to continue our partnership with CSC. CSC has played a big part in our success here at Delaware and we look forward to continuing our relationship for years to come.” - Joe Shirley Sr. Associate Athletics Director for Facilities, Operations, and Sports Performance University of Delaware Des Moines Employee Appreciation Day DES MOINES, IA - CSC Des Moines hosted an employee appreciation day at the Iowa Cubs baseball game on Tuesday, August 11th. The Iowa Cubs, a Triple-A minor league team affiliated with the Chicago Cubs, play their home games at Principle Park in downtown Des Moines. The CSC Des Moines team hosted a tailgate before the game with food, drinks, and team building activities. CSC then got to cheer on one of their own as Kevin Peterson, CSC Des Moines Supervisor, threw out the first pitch! The memorable event had a great turnout and the Des Moines team looks forward to doing it again next year.
