As a spokesperson for Together for Kids, a national alliance of children’s hospitals including CAMC Women and Children’s Hospital, the syndicated radio host will help raise money and awareness for this and other Together for Kids hospitals nationwide. “As the mother of 11 children, I know that when your child is sick, nothing else matters,” said Delilah. “That’s why I am so passionate about the work being done by Together for Kids to connect its member hospitals with the funding they need to care for sick and injured children, regardless of their ability to pay. Every child deserves every chance to live a healthy life.” According to the American radio personality, author and songwriter, Together for Kids stood out from other children’s charities because one hundred percent of all funds raised directly support the health care needs of children served by its member hospitals. “This partnership presents an opportunity to strengthen the work of CAMC Women and Children’s Hospital with the advanced technology, treatment, education and medical research we need to tackle today’s toughest pediatric issues,” said Gail Pitchford, president, CAMC Foundation and board member for Together for Kids. “We are delighted to have Delilah join our alliance of children’s hospitals in creating a single voice advocating for children’s health.” James O. Bunn II, owner of Coal River Energy, graduated from Appalachian State University with a business degree. Delilah and Gail Pitchford at the ceremony to launch the partnership. Raye King, president/chief operating officer for Commercial Insurance, has extensive direct sales and sales management experience. She received her BA in English from Long Beach State University. Save the date Lyle Smith is the managing director and chief investment officer for United Wealth Management Group. He has a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of South Carolina. Smith has more than 15 years of experience in the financial services industry. CAMC Foundation Golf Classic Rachelle Beckner has joined the CAMC Foundation staff as Senior Development Officer. She is responsible for all fundraising aspects for CAMC Women and Children’s Hospital, including the CAMC Gala and Golf Tournament. She has raised money in the Kanawha Valley for eight years, most recently with the Kanawha County Public Library, where she was the Marketing and Development Manager. Monday, Aug. 15, 2011 •Berry Hills Country Club •Edgewood Country Club •Sleepy Hollow Golf and Country Club Total monies raised in 2010 The Foundation wishes to thank all of the generous donors for helping raise Watch for more information. Year-end appeal brings in $11,000 Sixty-six people responded by donating $11,132 toward the project. Five new people became members of the CAMC Foundation Board of Directors in January. Throughout the year, Delilah will take her audience of more than eight million listeners inside the walls of Together for Kids hospitals to get to know some really courageous patients facing some very serious health challenges. She’ll also introduce listeners to the people who work tirelessly to treat children affected by serious illness or injury. The emergency room is responsible for about 55 percent of patient admissions at CAMC. The expansion project is expected to cost more than $8 million and would add 10 multi-purpose treatment rooms. She is a graduate of WVU and RMA Commercial Lending School at East Carolina University.
