Napa Valley Winery and Tasting Room
In the 1990’s, Vic Bourassa was your typical home winemaker:
passionate, analytical and totally consumed with his craft. In 1999
Vic was fortunate to share a lunch with Napa Valley’s legendary
Robert Mondavi. Partway through the meal Vic uncorked a bottle of
his own homemade Napa Valley Pinot Noir. After a few sips
Mondavi said something that would change Vic’s life. “This is
extremely good. You should consider winemaking as a profession
rather than a hobby.” Two years later Vic and Kathy Bourassa opened
their winery for business.
Today, with the help of superstar consulting winemaker Gary
Galleron, Bourassa Vineyards produces nearly 2,000 cases of small
lot, hand crafted wines. Their current portfolio includes a
Chardonnay and a range of Bordeaux varieties and blends from some
of Napa Valley’s finest vineyard sites.
Wine brand subject to separate negotiations.

The Beginning
Napa Valley Winery and Tasting Room
The turning point for Vic Bourassa, proprietor of Bourassa Vineyards in the Napa Valley, occurred over a
lunch he had in 1999 with the godfather of California wine, Robert Mondavi. By that time Bourassa, who
had moved to the Valley permanently three years before and had entered a second professional career in
real estate development, was already a committed home winemaker. The chance to talk about wine with
one of the most influential winery figures in the world was to be savored and appreciated.
At some point during that memorable lunch Bourassa uncorked a bottle of his own homemade
Napa Valley Pinot Noir and after a few evidently pleasurable sips, Mondavi began to encourage the
novice winemaker to enter the winemaking field as a professional. It was at that very moment that
Bourassa Vineyards was born.
The first wine produced under the Bourassa Vineyards label was a traditional Bordeaux blend
called Harmony3. It received many gold and double gold medals. The total production of 400 cases sold
out very quickly, and Bourassa Vineyards was on its way. An award winning Napa Valley Zinfandel and
Syrah followed the Harmony3 bottling, and on it went without pause.
Today, with a total production of 2,000 cases, Vic, along with wife Kathy, devote much of the
winery’s attention to the five Bordeaux varietals: Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Merlot,
and Petit Verdot. Additionally, Bourassa produces a Port made using the Solera system; a system that uses
fractional blending in such a way that the finished port is a mixture of ages with the average age of the
port gradually increasing.
Bourassa’s winemaking philosophy is simple: Create something special; something that you would
be proud to share with your friends. The wines, no matter what the varietal, are painstakingly hand-crafted in small lots. The winery carefully creates rich, complex blends using grapes from premiere,
hand-tended Napa Valley vineyards, as they showcase the terroir that has become so well known
throughout the world.
Located in southern Napa, set amongst offices and warehouses of beverage industry businesses
such as Seguin Moreau Cooperage, Bin to Bottle, and Napa Smith Brewery, the beauty of Bourassa’s
tasting room will take you by surprise. And as for the experience itself...it’s like no other in the Valley. As
Vic Bourassa likes to say, “We look forward to sharing with you our passion for wine and commitment to
quality. Cheers and Celebrate Life!” Wine brand subject to separate negotiations. Contact listing agents for
more information.

Waste Water From Winery Operations
Napa County requires all wineries to dispose of the waste water from the winery operations by a “hold and haul”
method. Wineries are not permitted to dispose of their waste water into the domestic sanitary sewer.
There are two 2,500 gallon tanks located at the exterior of the building. The tanks are connected to a floor drain
and a pumping system in the interior of Unit K, which fills the tanks. We contract with Dependable Septic to pump
the tanks and haul away the wine waste on an as needed basis.
