Deroose Plants has grown from a modest family owned company to a
well-established name in horticulture with branches in Europe, the
United States and China. We propagate and distribute a wide range of
plant varieties all over the world.
Having experience for years with a broad range of crops, Deroose Plants
belongs today to the world top for tissue culture propagation. We strive
to give you the best services for plant tissue culture initation,
proprietary propagation and growing and developping of new and
improved cultivars. Deroose Plants never shies away from challenges
and creativity in all its aspects which forms the basis of the company’s
philosophy.

Tissue culture solutions
Deroose plants specialises in in vitro initiation of plant
cultures, propagation, and rooting under controlled
environmental conditions. Through micro propagation we
want to provide you in abundance with uniform, disease
free and high quality plants.
In collaboration with several agricultural universities,
Deroose Plants conducts continuous research in the
breeding and propagation of plants. This research has a
threefold purpose: supporting the breeding activity,
improving the tissue culture techniques for the propagation
of plants, and acquiring more knowledge about the
cultivation of newly developed and existing plants.
Producing on 3 continents for worldwide supply
Deroose Plants offers the strength of an international group.
We own and operate tissue culture labs and greenhouses in
Belgium, China and Florida. For each request we can appeal
to our worldwide network of renowned research institutions
and universities, top growers and off course our own team
of researchers and staff.
Deroose Plants hosts a strong logistics team. By distributing
the plants in the fastest way under the best circumstances,
Deroose Plants is able to deliver a high quality product
anywhere in the world.

Tissue Culture multiplication – R&D centre
The company’s Research & Development center is located in Sleidinge, near Ghent. Our researchers develop, in
close collaboration with the Universities of Ghent and Leuven, new techniques to master the propagation of
‘recalcitrant’ plants; tissue culture hardening; in vitro acclimatization; autotrophic growth ; etcetera. We
specialize in the development of specific protocols and clean stocks.

All our products are delivered in consideration with the specific needs of our customers. Working together with
our customers to find the best solution for each product is key to our business. We have the facilities to provide
material ex laboratory as well as hardened young plants in different stages. Out of our production facility in the
United States of America and China, we also grow and distribute finished products.

Hardening and growing of young plants – from Lab to Customer
In order to control our standard of production and serve our customers, we harden and grow our young plants
for the horticulture sector in our own greenhouses before shipping them to our customers in the sub region
(Asia, USA and Europe). In this way we are able to control our production cycle and deliver top quality products.
Thanks to our association with the plantation company Siat (www.siat-group.com), and our scientific
collaboration programs (PalmElit, CIRAD, VIB, KULeuven, and others), the next big step in our company’s history
will be the establishment of a new production unit on the African continent in the near future. This unit will
accompany our growth on the African continent, mainly in plantation and food crops. Being close to our
customers to serve them in the best possible way is key to our business model. Deroose Plants aims to become
the reference for high quality planting material in West-Africa, selling to both smallholder farmers and big
plantation companies.

(Research program for Bayer), … and we have started the tissue culture multiplication of Elaeis Guineensis (the Oil
Palm).
We have experience with more than 100 different species and over 3,000 different cultivars.
